[The screen is black as the beginning notes of "Legendary" by Skillet begin to be heard.] [As the melody begins to be heard, we see the SCW letters flash across the screen in brilliant burnt orange letters.] #Legendary. OHHHHHHHH!!!# [The music continues as the word "RAMPAGE" superimposes in white letters over the burnt orange SCW letters.] #Legendary. OHHHHHHHH!!!# [The guitar riffs kick in as the logo breaks into flame in the center and burns toward the outer edges of the screen like Bonanza's old theme.] #OHHHHHHHH!!! Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh# [The moment the lead singer's first "OH" is heard, the flames dissipate and allow us to see a the screen split into a pair of pictures. The first is Pat Gordon Jr. standing on the turnbuckles in the corner on the left, while the right picture is Caleb Foley standing in the center of the ring holding a finger out to point at the fans.] #OHHHHHHHH!!! Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh# [The screen switches to show Windham Brody stepping over the top rope.] #My heart bleeds adrenaline# #The fire I breathe is where I live# [The screen shows a vid cap of Bam Markham pounding his fist into his chest.] #(Say my name) Incredible# #(Say my name) An animal# [Switch to show vid cap of Chris Smith clotheslining an opponent and then raising his arms in triumph.] #One life to live# #I never give up, I never give in# [The screen switches to show all four brothers of the Rich Family walking down the aisle and greeting fans, only to switch to El Gringo Loco and Las Preguntas standing in the ring taunting ringside fans.] #Some people wanna turn and run# #But the strong rise under the gun# [Screen shows Tripp Skylark leaping off the top turnbuckle and high into the air toward the outside of the ring before it dissolves into the next vid cap.] #Top, to the top# #Ain't never gonna stop# [Video cap of Chase Williams grabbing hold of a wrestler and crashing him to the canvas with a choke slam.] #To the top, to the top# #Ain't never gonna stop# [Quick vid cap of Alfie Button kipping up in a match.] #Never gonna keep me down (never keep me)# [A few quick pictures are quickly seen of Gazi, Steve Dann, Michael Wilson, and Johnny Psychotic.] #Still the one that's standing now (never falling)# [Vid Cap of Pat Gordon Jr locking on the "Pat Lock" submission hold.] #Destiny is calling me# #Go down in history# #Every day I'll fight to be# [The vid cap shows Alfie Button poised on the top rope and leaping into the air for a 720 DDT on his opponent. He hits and jumps up right as the title words are sung.] #Legendary# [Vid cap of Johnny Psychotic landing his top rope superplex finisher.] #OHHHHHHHH!!! Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh# [Pictures of the Health Fanatics, Prague Drinking Team, Sweaty Bling and The Maniacs are seen quickly.] #OHHHHHHHH!!! Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh# [The screen shows the vid cap of Johnny Psychotic scowling and punching his right fist into his left hand as he glares toward the camera.] #Legendary# #OHHHHHHHH!!!!# [As the driving music continues the screen explodes into a million pieces and reveals the SCW Arena with the ring in the center of the view. The crowd is packed in the upper regions, as are the ringside seats. The fans are cheering loudly and hear the sounds of enthusiasm as our host announce team begins to speak.] CHANEY: WELCOME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN BACK TO THE LIVLIEST OF LIVE WRESTLING SHOWS!!! WELCOME TO SCW RAMPAGE!!! My name is Eric Chaney and with me, as always, is wrestling legend Larry "The Crusher" Watters! WATTERS: Evenin' sheeple! [The screen fades form the view of the ringside fans to the announce table at ringside where our announcers will call the action. Chaney is wearing a burnt orange "SCW" polo shirt and has his dark hair slicked back, looking as "GQ" as humanly possible. While next to him, Larry is wearing his usual denim shirt and trademark scowl, which even with his grey beard is unmistakable as a man who attempts to stay unhappy most of the time.] CHANEY: We are here at The Phoenix Area in Dallas, Texas, and ready for an exciting night of action in the squared circle! WATTERS: Tonight we make our second whack through the Lonestar Tourney field and another four get knocked out! CHANEY: That's right, Larry! All four quarterfinal matches happen TONIGHT! Sean Darring takes on Windham Brody! Pat Gordon Junior battles Tripp Skylark! Alfie Button is scheduled to face Sagawa and in our main event... WATTERS: (interrupting) Johnny Psychotic beats the crap out of Caleb Foley! CHANEY: Well we don't know how it will end, Larry. WATTERS: We do if you saw what Psychotic did to Sagawa last Rampage in that cage match! CHANEY: Speaking of which, fans we are still in the dark over whether Sagawa's health will allow him to compete tonight. WATTERS: I would stay home and be prepared for the ladder match at Showdown. Be at your best! That is my motto! CHANEY: Since when? WATTERS: What exactly do you mean by that, Chaney? ["Jungle" by X Ambassador blairs across the arena to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Michael Wilson emerges from the entrance tunnel, wearing his normal street gear as he is not scheduled to wrestle tonight. Right behind him is fellow #heelnation partner Harrison Daniels III, who is also in street gear. They ignores the fans as he makes his way to the ring.] CHANEY: Heelnation has arrived, it seems! But they aren't scheduled to appear! WATTERS: Let them have their time, Chaney. You whine too much! CHANEY: God only knows what these two will say after the events of last Rampage. WATTERS: Whatever it is, you can bet it will make headlines! These two are among the best in SCW already! [Wilson and Daniels enter the ring. Each man mounts his respective turnbuckle and looks around at the crowd before dropping down and raising their arms to a chorus of boos. Wilson asks for a microphone and receives one. Daniels catches one as well.] WILSON: Last Rampage, I was out here putting on a show against an someone that should be glad he was even in the ring with me. DANIELS: That's true! WILSON: It is what I have ALWAYS done since I showed up here in SCW. [He pauses as the traditional "asshole" chant has begun to be heard in the arena.] WILSON: You can yell all you want, but let's just be honest about what it is your yelling about. None of you truly understand what it is like to be me. [Another round of loud boos.] WILSON: From day one that I walked into SCW, I had a reputation and a set of expectations laid upon me. I signed on the dotted line and my history as a record-setting champion suddenly makes me a threat. DANIELS: A Contender! WILSON: Every man in that locker room shook a little when they saw my name listed among them. DANIELS: Quaking in their boots! WILSON: I was expected to be at the top of the pecking order. I was expected to be among the elite of this field. I was expected to be the man that would set the standard in SCW and that was before I ever stepped into the damn ring here! [Michael looks at HD3 and Daniels nods in agreement. The crowd is booing them relentllessly.] WILSON: They put me in the "group of death" for this tournament. A group that includes two other former World Champions. Mind you that if they had given me ANY OTHER GROUP, not only would I be destined for Showdown title finals, but probably would be UNDEFEATED! [The crowd boos.] WILSON: There is nobody like me on this roster. Nobody that can do what I can in the ring and on the mic. DANIELS: Unparalelled! WILSON: And nobody can claim to be better than me anywhere at any time. That is why SCW signed me. That is why I am among the greats in this ocker room. That is why #heelnation is the greatest force in wrestling today! [The crowd boos loudly, while a few are heard chanting "In Heel We Trust"] WILSON: And I did it without ANYBODY's help or aid. DANIELS: My hands are clean! WILSON: I didn't need to rely on others to gain my position or success. I'm truly a self-made man! [A pause.] WILSON: And that is what drives you crazy, isn't it Goyette? [The crowd cheers at the mention of Dylan's name.] WILSON: You chase and chased my records and fell short. And that is because Daddy couldn't provide that kind of success for you. Sure, he got you in the door. DANIELS: Check. WILSON: He saved you from injury. DANIELS: check. WILSON: He set you up with the best training and then negotiated your first contract. DANIELS: Ca-ching and check! WILSON: But what he couldn't do was make you better than me. Better than a legend. And that is why you decided to come out here last Rampage and screw with my match. MY MATCH!!! I had it well in hand and you stuck your overbearing, entitled nose into it! In the end, you just want to be like me, but in the end you just don't measure up! [In that moment, the crowd begins to roar as Dylan Goyette walks out from backstage. He is not coming down the entrance ramp, but the area right next to it. He is already mouthing words toward both members of #heelnation as he makes his way down tot he ring.] WILSON: Speaking of the man-child who would be king, here he is! [Goyette gets into the ring and catches the microphone tossed to him by a stagehand. You can tell he is seething and even through the heaving of his chest from the power walk to the ring, his anger is heard as he speaks.] GOYETTE: Why are you even bringing me into this? WILSON: Beca.... GOYETTE: (interrupting) Shut up, I wasn't done. My God, can you just let somebody else speak for once? [The crowd cheers and Wilson and Daniels look at each other, many possible ways to interpret their stares.] GOYETTE: Listen, I didn't cost you the match last Rampage. You did that to yourself. [Wilson looks like he is about to speak as he raises his microphone, but Dylan motions not to even try.] GOYETTE: It was YOU who chose to engage me as I sat at ringside. It was YOU who decided that throwing shade my direction was going to be your best play in that match. It was YOU who stepped out of the ring and took YOUR eye off the ball. [He points his thumb at his own chest as he speaks.] GOYETTE: I was simply watching a guy take a loss. [The word loss stings Wilson a little and the crowd chuckles at him.] GOYETTE: The entire time I held that World Title, all people talked about was Michael Wilson's record reign and how nobody would ever approach that again. They built you up as some sort of gold standard nobody would ever meet. I wanted to beat that record so badly that I even did things I wasn't proud of in order to get close. [He pauses.] GOYETTE: And yes, I failed to even get a full year as champion because of my arrogance I overlooked an opponent. [Daniels and Wilson begin laughing at each other and making the hand gesture for tiny that no man likes having made in his direction.] GOYETTE: Thing is, I came here at my Dad's request to watch some wrestling and enjoy myself. I knew you would be on the show and I wanted to watch you in person. [He pauses to look Wilson up and down, Michael returns the gaze with an arrogant stance and a nod almost darring Dylan to throw a shot.] GOYETTE: And what I saw wasn't a gold standard to live up to, but a man who can't let go of who he USED to be. And to me, it was the saddest thing I have ever seen. I expected more fire in the ring. I expected more zeal. I, quite frankly, just expected.... [Dylan smirks at the duo's direction.] GOYETTE: More. [Before Dylan can say another word, Wilson raises his microphone and cuts him off.] WILSON: What do you know about anything that could be described as "more?" [Daniels moves to a point at the other end of Dylan's line of vision as Wilson continues speaking.] WILSON: You have had everything handed to you because you are Hopper's son. DANIELS: ILLEGITIMATE SON!!! [Michael turns his head to look at his partner and nods.] WILSON: Oh yeah, forgot that part. [He steps right up to Goyette, who is a couple of inches taller, and gets as close to nose- to-nose as he can.] WILSON: Hopper's BASTARD. [At that moment, Dylan shoves WIlson back and the crowd erupts. Wilson acts like he is about to return a shot o fhis own when Daniels suddenly chop blocks the knee of the Canadian star. We can hear our ringside announcers.] CHANEY: HEEL NATION IS GOING AFTER GOYETTE!!! WATTERS: The kid came out here. He isn't on the roster and had no right to be out here anyway. [Both men land kicks on Goyette and take him down. Daniels grabs Dylan's arms as he is now on his knees in the ring. Wilson stands over him.] WILSON: You spent all that time trying to live up to my example and now that you are face-to-face with it, you realize that my greatness is truly your reality. You can't live up to me and it is time somebody sent you back to the minors, kid. [He looks up at Daniels.] WILSON: Set him up. [Just as Daniels begins to get Daniels ready to receive a GTR from Wilson, the crowd's boos turn to cheers as the armani-clad EVP of Talent Relations, Chris Hopper, hits the ring. Wilson and Daniels scatter quickly to ringside as Chris picks up a microphone.] HOPPER: Alright Mikey, you want to call down the thunder you got it. A fair fight in the ring. [Wilson's eyes light up.] HOPPER: At Showdown, I'm going to put Daniels in a match against one of our newest roster members, Jonny Bedlam! [Crowd cheers and Harrison Daniels III looks like he is annoyed by this announcement.] HOPPER: And as for you, Mikey? I'm giving Dylan a one-night contract to come in and kick your ass! [The crowd erupts in cheers as Wilson acts like he has just be served poison.] HOPPER: See you at Showdown! [The crowd erupts as #heelnation backs up the aisle while Hopper raises Goyette's hand in the middle of the ring.]
[Steve Blaine is standing alongside a star that he is noticeably bigger than in cruiserweight, Jed Johnson, who hates what you'd normally associate with cruiserweights, so we'll cease using the word henceforth.] BLAINE: Jed, you face fo... JOHNSON: Sorry, Steve. You mean the guy you're about to give the Hollywood introduction to is facing ME, Jed Johnson. BLAINE: Er... JOHNSON: It's HIS debut here. Have you seen him wrestle here? No. So, here in Texas, I am bigger than Jonny Bedlam. [Our interviewer is dumbfounded by that statement while the fans listening in the arena are cackling like witches and someone else I'm sure some of you know.] BLAINE: What should we expect from this match, Jed? JOHNSON: Me shutting a few of these morons up {that prompted boos from out front.} This is SouthWestern Championship Wrestling and I put the W in SCW. BLAINE: But, Jonny could argue he puts the C in SCW. He is, after all, coming off a glorious reign as... JOHNSON: A title reign with a league that should be OUR developmental fed. He might have been the big dog down there, but it's a different style here with ex-champions left, right and center. The way this match goes? If it's a wrestling match, I win. Period. If it's a fight, he wins. BLAINE: Just like that? JOHNSON: Hey, that's the way it is. I know he's got more experience and he's on a hell of a roll, I don't take that away from him, but SCW is a different proposition altogether and I'm a better wrestler than him, I'm a better wrestler than EVERYONE here. I just need to prove it. But, if I get emotionally involved and this turns into a fight, it's Jonny's yard as it was up there and I'll lose. BLAINE: Good luck, Jed. JOHNSON: I don't need it, Blaine. I know you got Bedlam. I know you got him picked, but the man's in trouble. I'm gonna show you and SCW how great I am. [The screen cuts away.]
[We return to the ringside announce team.] CHANEY: How about that news, Larry! Dylan Goyette, the son of Chris Hopper, is being given a one-night contract to face Michael Wilson at Showdown! WATTERS: I think this time "little Hopper" wrote a check that his body not only won't cash, but will crash and burn! CHANEY: He's also a former World Champion. WATTERS: Chaney, let me be honest with you! Former World Champion honors are great, but what REALLY counts is what you do right here in the SCW. CHANEY: Seriously? WATTERS: Damn right! CHANEY: Well then, I'm going to remember you said that. WATTERS: Good, it'll serve your ass good when the time comes. CHANEY: I think it is best that we get ready for our opening contest tonight as Suicidal Steve and Kamikaze Keith will be in action as their team, 'Nuff Said, will step in against the Health Fanatics. WATTERS: This match really is going to be lopsided. I can feel it. Somner and Matthews are in great shape, as always. That is half the battle in wrestling. CHANEY: You always use that phrase "half the battle." WATTERS: And? CHANEY: That at least makes five "halves" you have discussed. WATTERS: Wrestling is a big sport, Chaney. CHANEY: Let's take it to the ring and get started with some fast-paced tag team action! Take it away, Buff!
[As the camera switches to the ring, the following graphics fills the screen.]
[The graphic leaves and we see SCW Ring Announcer Aaron Buffington in the ring ready to go.] BUFFINGTON: Ladies and Gentlemen, this tag team match is set for one fall and has a fifteen-minute time limit! Introducing first, already in the ring, at a combined weight of 431 pounds, the team of "Kamikaze" Keith and "Suicidal" Steve... 'N U F F S A I D ! ! ! [A small but enthusiastic reaction erupts as the two team members once again acknowledge the crowd, before returning to their limbering exercises as they wait for their opponents.] CHANEY: Steve and Keith are here and nobdoy expected them to be on the show. WATTERS: Because attendance drops if we see their names! CHANEY: That isn't true! WATTERS: I will admit that isn't true because usually they get destroyed by whomever they face! Tonight will be no diffeent! [Aaron Buffington goes to continue the introductions.] BUFFINGTON: And their opponents, hailing from Washington DC, at a combined weight of four hundred, sixty-eight pounds, "The Engine" Damon Somner and "The Powerhouse" Greg Matthews... T H E H E A L T H F A N A T I C S ! ! ! ["Call on Me" plays loudly, blue strobes beating in perfect harmony to the tune. In matching red frat-like jackets from Washington State University, Damon Somner performs several star jumps while Greg Matthews completes the Farmer's Walk, carrying two black cast-iron kettlebells, weighing 20 kilos each. They suddenly drop their props and begin jogging down the aisle. They slide into the ring and begin flexing as the crowd boos them loudly.] CHANEY: These two are in good shape. WATTERS: EXCEPTIONAL shape, Chaney, they are fanatical about their bodies. CHANEY: I can see that. WATTERS: You could learn something there. CHANEY: I'll ignore that remark, Larry. But you are right that these two will never get out-cardioed in a match. WATTERS: That is true. They can run circles around anybody in there! [DING! DING!! DING!!!] CHANEY: Here we go! This one is under way! WATTERS: The tag division is so hot that when the higher ups decided to add a match, it's a tag team match! I love that! [Greg Matthews starts out with Suicidal Steve, who lives up to his billing by taking the fight to the bout's most powerful entity with a pair of punishing European uppercuts that not only surprise Matthews, but also hurt him too. However, as Steve sets Greg up for an Irish whip, 'The Powerhouse' regains his bearings and his power tells in the form of a reversal. Steve is sent to the neutral corner with authority.] CHANEY: Mowed down with a clothesline... WATTERS: Lariat! Remember where you are. Whatever it's called, it hurts. CHANEY: Sure does. Matthews scoops Steve up with ease. Look at that power. WATTERS: Carrying him around like a newborn. CHANEY: Suicidal Steve is two hundred and thirteen pounds. WATTERS: But, he has the IQ of a person between two and thirteen years old. CHANEY: Running powerslam by Matthews! [Greg doesn't give his opposite number any time to recover whatsoever and effortlessly elevates him into the air again.] CHANEY: I am almost repeating myself here: Running powerbomb! WATTERS: That rocked the ring. Greg's the man in the gym and now the ring. Extraordinary power. CHANEY: Suicidal Steve rolls out of the ring and Greg Matthews is pointing at Kamikaze Keith, ordering him to get in the ring. It seems the official is happy for Keith to come in as the legal man without a tag. [Matthews heads straight for Keith, but misses with the clothesline as Keith backtracks in the opposite direction to the home corner he's just emerged from. It's a game of cat and mouse with Greg not giving up.] WATTERS: Greg fell into that trap. CHANEY: Lovely armdrag by Kamikaze Keith! Make that another and he settles Matthews down with an armbar. WATTERS: Not for long. [Sure enough, Greg is back on his feet and shoving Keith into the ropes before sending him to the opposing set.] WATTERS: Body block that knocks Keith out of the ring! Forget about it. He's finished both of them off in under a minute. CHANEY: Watch out! [Suicidal Steve springboard dropkicks an oblivious Greg from behind, Matthews taking a knee and using the other ropes to help him get up.] CHANEY: Clothesline by Steve that sends Matthews up and over, 360, and that was impressive. WATTERS: Greg is back up...no need to worry. CHANEY: Baseball slide and Greg Matthews is all over the place here! Somner is worried too and you can hear it in his voice as he gestures at his watch, telling his partner that time is ticking. WATTERS: Still a long way to go. CHANEY: Not that long. WATTERS: To quote a great man I once knew: There's time to die yet. And, these two punks just might if Greg gets his hands on either of them, like he did in the first minute. CHANEY: Suicidal Steve with a suicide dive... WATTERS: Ha! Caught! CHANEY: Steve is at Matthew's mercy here! RUNNING POWERSLAM ON THE FLOOR! WATTERS: Forget about it! He's DONE. What did I tell you, Chaney? CHANEY: Perhaps the strongest man, pound for pound, in all of SCW. WATTERS: Or the strongest man in SCW, period. Ask Prague Drinking Team. And can he take a punch too? Sure. Can he take a beer bottle shot? ABSOLUTELY. CHANEY: Can he hit someone with a dumbbell? WATTERS: He sure can! [Kamikaze Keith lulls Matthews into the corner. Greg misses with a clothesline and Kamikaze Keith sticks it to 'The Powerhouse' with three right hands. An Irish whip proves futile though as Matthews counters it with ease and then misses with the subsequent clothesline attempt.] CHANEY: Good dropkick by Keith causes a bit of distance and Kamikaze quickly mounts the ropes...Moonsault Pre---Powerslam!!! WATTERS: In an instant, Matthews turns it round! CHANEY: Tag to Somner. WATTERS: VROOM! CHANEY: What was that? WATTERS: It's 'The Engine' Damon Somner. [Somner starts with a ribbreaker. Elsewhere, Suicidal Steve is stirring. Could he still have a role to play?] CHANEY: Damon slows the pace right down with an abdominal stretch, this is physical and mental torture, and that's just for that fans. WATTERS: Excuse me, Eric? CHANEY: After the assault carried out by Matthews, there is no need. WATTERS: Do you want to go up there and tell him that? CHANEY: Not particularly. And on top of that, he's using the top rope for leverage. Is that really necessary? WATTERS: Why not? CHANEY: Cheaters never prosper isn't always true, but sometimes they don't and I am glad Kamikaze Keith has turned that around and into a hip toss. Make that an armdrag! Another! Oh, delightful dropkick by Keith and Suicidal Steve, sensationally, is holding out a hand for a tag and wants to be in. WATTERS: What is going on with Damon? Greg had this all under control. CHANEY: Problems with 'The Engine?' WATTERS: You're not funny. CHANEY: And neither is that tag! Suicidal Steve is the legal man. WATTERS: OH NO! CHANEY: What? WATTERS: Look, Keith has got Damon up on his shoulders and Steve is up on the top rope, which means only one thing... [FACEPLANT DDT BY STEVE!!!] CHANEY AND WATTERS: NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TTTHHHHHHRRRRR........MATTHEWS MAKES THE SAVE!!! [Steve is pacing around the ring like a maniac, not sure of what his next move will be. He then stars geeing the crowd up.] CHANEY: Larry, there's almost three minutes gone, two to go and you know what I've just realized? That Nuff Said might actually beat Health Fanatics in FIVE minutes! How ironic would that be? WATTERS: I'm in shock right now. CHANEY: It's not all that often our resident legend is at a loss for words. Suicidal Steve, who shouldn't even be here after Matthew's running powerslam on the outside, is a move away from defeating Damon Somner, or will be as long as Kamikaze Keith can negate the obstacle that is Greg Matthews. WATTERS: That's the only reason I'm not sweating right now. Greg's presence looms large. CHANEY: Wait a moment! [Suicidal Steve is going up to the top turnbuckle in a neutral corner, the one situation to the north-western area of the squared circle.] WATTERS: What can this moron be planning? CHANEY: We'll find out momentarily. WATTERS: HA! Dropkick by Damon and that hurt Steve badly! CHANEY: He's setting him up for a PYRAMID DRIVER! Can he get it? [Somner connects!] WATTERS: Can he connect? Did he ever!!! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TTTHHHHHHRRRRR..........KICKOUT!!! [Keith kicks Damon off, only to be lifted into the air by a gorilla press slam, courtesy of Greg Matthews, and dumped over the top rope and to the arena floor! OUCH!] CHANEY: Greg Matthews is a bully! [Greg exits.] WATTERS: And a badass. CHANEY: But mainly a bully. That was uncalled for. WATTERS: By who? You? I, for one, loved it! CHANEY: Why doesn't Damon just cover him and get over with it? WATTERS: Because there's still time on the clock. CHANEY: What - a minute? WATTERS: Just over and they're enjoying themselves. [Damon brings Matthews back in via a tag. Greg sets Suicidal Steve, who has had some stick, up with an electric chair while Somner scales the heights.] WATTERS: Eric, not everyone experiences... [Dramatic pause. Somner steadies himself and comes off the top rope, a far cry from his predicament just over a minute or so ago, to DEVASTATE Steve with a neckbreaker.] WATTERS: RUNNER'S HIGH!!! CHANEY: Matthews with one foot arrogantly covers Suicidal Steve. 1...2...3!!! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TTTHHHHHHRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [With four minutes and five seconds elapsed and fifty-five seconds to spare, Health Fanatics achieve their own self-imposed limitations, but they, Damon especially, certainly lived dangerously for as long as the match lasted.] CHANEY: A match of two halves? WATTERS: No, Health Fanatics dominated, but... CHANEY: Come on, Larry. WATTERS: BUT, the moments Nuff Said against Damon had me and every Health Fanatics fanatic on the seat of our pants. Damon is The Engine, he's the captain of the team, but he really didn't turn up tonight and big Greg CARRIED Health Fanatics home, figuratively and literally. What power. [Somner's star jumps incense the audience and Matthews shows off those guns right behind his partner.] CHANEY: The awesome strength of Greg Matthews was definitely the difference-maker here as we see Health Fanatics celebrate another victory, their second in as many weeks after settling the score with Prague Drinking Team last week. WATTERS: Two wins that have potentially thrust Somner and Matthews back into title contention. [The screen cuts away.]
[The screen is black and the following words appear and then slowly disappear...] The Jungles of Somalia [Despite the darkness of night creeping in, a heat fills the air like a thick heavy blanket covers a baby on a winter's evening. It weighs everyone down, it slows their bodies and their minds. The heavy canopy of the jungle allows only shards of the blazing sunlight through, but the humidity seals in the heat and reduces the oxygen levels. The undergrowth holds its scent in the air like a fog. The trunks of trees, their branches, and a small growth of grasses make the path ahead barely passable. Still, one man hacks away at the overgrown greenery before him.] [Wearing green military-grade camouflage, a heavy-looking rucksack overbrimming with supplies, and heavy, well-worn military grade boots, the man looks well prepared for his excavation. From various parts of his body a range of guns hang. A shotgun, pistols, a rifle is slung across his chest. Over his head, the black bag of a family-sized pack of Heatburst BBQ & Chilli Doritos.] [He forges ahead, one hand draped over his rifle, the other swinging with his machete to clear a path. He steps quietly over the long grass, slowly and silently pressing onwards.] [Ahead, a clearing opens up. The man crouches behind a thick tree trunk, surveying the scene. Three men sit around a camp fire. They wear hand-me-down clothing. Old, dated Nike T-Shirts posted to them from Bob Geldof fans and tracksuit pants once belonging to Boris Becker.] [A few moments of silence pass.] [A rustling in the bushes garners the attention of one of the campers. He nudges his friends and each of them draw from between their knees an AK47. They stand, knees bent, and head towards the sound. Silently the leader of the pack uses hand gestures to guide one man left and one right. They seperate and slowly advance.] MAN (OFF CAMERA): AYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! !!!! [One of the men falls to his back and is dragged into the undergrowth, his ankle bound by a long, thick reed. As he disappears his screaming becomes curdled, then silent. Each of his comrades stare wide-eyed in the direction of the screaming, backing away a few steps. MAN (OFF CAMERA): KAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAMOTHAAAAAA!!!!!! [The other follower turns to see a flaming glass Grolsch beer bottle hurtling towards him, a rag stuffed inside it and lit on fire.] MAN IN ORANGE NIKE TSHIRT: {'Shit' in whatever language Somalian's speak.} [The bottle hits his chest as he tries to catch it, immediately blowing up and blasting a hole in his chest. He flies backwards and disappears into the thick bush.] [One man, his AK47 pointing at random around the undergrowth surrounding the clearing, now guards the sentry point alone. Sweat beads on his dark brown skin as his bloodshot eyes flick from one direction to the other until he feels a tap on his shoulder.] [The man turns to see a black bag of Doritos looking at him.] DORITOS: Boo. [A large hunting knife shoots up beneath the mans jaw, impaling him, piercing his tongue and the roof of his mouth. It penetrates the brain, blood dripping from his tear ducts.] DORITOS: Say. My. Name. [The mans mouth opens and closes.] DORITOS: Say. My. Name. Bitch. MAN: D-D-D... DORITOS: BITCH. I don't even need a logo anymore. MAN: DDDDDddddoritoooo... [The man's gravelly voice fades.] DORITOS: You're GO[BLEEP]N right. Now, where is the Plague Doctor? [Nothing from the man, just a blank, glazed stare. Doritos gives him a little shake.] DORITOS: The Doctor. Where is he? [Still nothing. Another Shake.] [There is a thick slap of noise as Doritos pulls the knife from the mans face, followed by a thud of his dead body hitting the dirt.] DORITOS: Ahh, s[BLEEP]. [Screen cuts to black.]
[Tess Wiley is standing in the SCW Interview area backstage with her is Windham Brody and neither look to be pleased to be in the others company.] WILEY: I'm here once again with Windham Brody and tonight you got a match up against Tripp Skylark Chris Hopper BRODY: First off let me say that I know for a fact that Tripp Skylark is thanking his lucky stars that he doesn't have to face me this week. [Tess looks at him in disbelief.] BRODY: What you don't believe me? [Tess looks awkwardly away.] BRODY: I have you know I have it on good authority that he did. Because he knows what would happen if he did. WILEY: He'd beat you again? [Brody looks at her clearly in no mood for her comments.] BRODY: I told you what happened. I was having fun it cost and if we were to meet again it would cost him dearly and everyone knows it including your bird brain ! [It's Tess' time to give the stink eye.] WILEY: What about your actual opponent this week the legendary Chris Hopper who surely will be your greatest test today BRODY: You know I've been called a lot of things in my time but after tonight you can just call me the legend Slayer. [A smirk forms across his face.] BRODY: And tonight we learn if an old dog can learn new tricks or lessons if you will. As I plan on teaching him several tonight and he's going to realize that his time is over and the era and kingdom of Brody will be built upon it's ashes. Legends may never die but tonight this one learns the one definite truth in SCW and that's BRODY RULES! [The screen fades out.]
[Steve Blaine is seen standing near one of SCW's newest talents, Jonny Bedlam. Both of them have microphones and it appears that an interview may be in order. According to Duhh Magazine.] BLAINE: Hello everyone out there in SCW. Tonight we feature one of our biggest free agent acquisitions thus far in Jonny Bedlam in his first in-ring action. I've got the man himself beside me here. Jonny, are you ready for your first action tonight against Jed Johnson? BEDLAM: I hope you noticed something Steve. BLAINE: What's that Jonny? BEDLAM: That I didn't interrupt you during your introduction like that little twerp. [Blaine stifled a chuckle.] BEDLAM: But yes, Steve. Forgive me for my awkwardness, as you might know I'm usually the one asking the questions. Soon, that may be my job once more in SCW. Tonight is my first taste of the joyous violence of SCW competition. I know the word is out about me. I'm not a man who likes hype. I like to generate excitement from what I do in the ring, not what I've done elsewhere. See, I'm not coming in to this place expecting the world handed to me on a platter. I'm more than happy to work ring crew. I'm more than happy to unload trucks. I'm more than happy to work the merch table, as you may have seen in other promotions. BLAINE: That particular event caused quite a Youtube sensation, I believe. BEDLAM: May all our problems be so small. See I'm not here to tell you that I'm a former double champion in an ultra competitive organization. I'm not here to tell you that few men ever did that there. I'm here to tell you that "there" doesn't matter right now. "Here" is all that matters. I never walk into a place not feeling I'm just starting out. I work my way up. I earn my meals. I fight for everything. [Jonny basks in the crowd adjulation in his head.] BLAINE: And we in the SCW wouldn't have it any other way, Mr. Bedlam. But can you tell me a little more about your gameplan for Jed Johnson tonight? BEDLAM: I'd love to, Mr. Blaine. I'd love to. See, Jed Johnson acted like he had me scouted when he spoke to you earlier. He acted like I'm some kind of senseless brawler. He thinks his hypertechnicality can carry the day if I "go into his yard." I've done judo and jujitsu for 10 years. I've probably got more submissions to my credit than he has clean arm drags. He thinks I'm dead in the water if things get on the mat, he's got another thing coming aside from a Child Support order from the Texas Office of the Attorney General." BLAINE: [Shaking his head] Those are some strong words there Mr. Bedlam. Do you have anything further to offer about the match or any other topic? BEDLAM: Yeah, I got one thing else to say. You claim to be "Bigger in Texas" than me. You're not bigger than anyone anywhere you shrimpy little bastard. You may be able to wrap careless idiot daredevil high flyers into pretzels, but with me...you're getting crumbled. You're getting demolished. BLAINE: There you have it folks. [The screen cuts away.]
[We return to the announcers sitting at ringside.] CHANEY: Jonny Bedlam certainly looking to make a splash in his debut tonight! WATTERS: He has the skills and all, but one has to think if there will be an adjustment when he comes from a smaller pond to a bigger sea, if you will. CHANEY: You think skill doesn't translate? WATTERS: I think sill does, but the mentality overall is definitely different. He's going from a medium fish in a small pond to a barely medium fish in a slightly bigger than medium body of water. It is a different thing, Chaney. CHANEY: Well anything can happen in SCW, just ask Windham Brody! The big man went from seemingly undeniable favorite to win his group in the Lonestar Tournament to being lucky to even get in the tournament by a drawing of names! WATTERS: That entire thing stinks to me, but I do understand why they did it. I just hate Chris Smith got kept out because of it. CHANEY: Brody not only got in, but his placement as the second guy drawn put him against the Group of Death winner, Sean Darring. WATTERS: It is a tough draw, but you have youth and size against experience and savvy. It is the best of both worlds in many ways here. CHANEY: And it is our first of four Quarterfinal matches tonight! Let's see who punches their ticket to Showdown first!
[As the camera switches to the ring, the following graphics fills the screen.]
[The graphic leaves and we see SCW Ring Announcer Aaron Buffington in the ring ready to go.] BUFFINGTON: Ladies and Gentlemen, this match is a Quarterfinal match in the Lonestar Tournament and is set for one fall and has a fifteen-minute time limit! Introducing first, from Lucifer, Arizona and weighing in at three hundred- seventeen pounds, here is... W I N D H A M B R O D Y ! ! ! ["13" by Danzig begins to play as the fans seems to enjoy the music, but the mood turns somber the moment Windham Brody steps out from behind the curtain. Brody has his trademark biker gear on with a leather jacket that simply has the word "Survivor" on it. He walks slowly down the aisle, staring toward the ring as if focused on making it his own personal domain. He reaches the ring and steps through the ropes and inside the squared circle.] CHANEY: Windham Brody, who got the luck of the draw to be here, is the first quarterfinalist to enter the ring tonight! WATTERS: He has a tough test against a veteran technician like Darring, but if anyone's brute strength can overcome....it's this guy right here! CHANEY: Brody is an enigma! Properly motivated he may be one of the scariest men on the roster. When he gets distracted? WATTERS: A disaster. In SCW he has been motivated thus far and only the Skylark shock stands out as a moment where he wasn't himself. CHANEY: You think we will see the real Brody tonight? WATTERS: I'm damns ure of it. [Aaron Buffington goes to continue the introductions.] BUFFINGTON: And his opponent... Introducing from Miami, Florida... Standing at six feet, four inches and weighing in at two hundred and forty pounds... he is... "T H E L E G E N D" S E A N D A R R I N G ! ! ! [The fans begin to cheer as green mist emerges from the back. "The Legend" Sean Darring walks through the mist as he walks down the aisle way. Decked out in a full-blown golden robe with the words "The Legend" written in silver glitter letters.]The fans reach across their seats and into the aisle way trying to the legend. Sean Darring stops along the way to greet young fans and spend a few seconds with them as he continues towards the ring.] CHANEY: Darring is looking strong tonight and has his eyes squarely on the Lonestar Title! WATTERS: I have to admit that when he beat Gordon last Rampage, he probably gave himself one of the top odds to win this whole thing. [Finally, after what felt like a long few minutes, The Legend steps between the ropes and into the squared circle as Dann stays in the corner. Sean greets the fans. He turns one final time with his long elegant robe and raises his arms bringing the fans to their feet.] CHANEY: Listen to this reaction! These Texas fans love the Legend! WALTERS: That happens when you water yourself down and your standards down, Chaney. [The robe comes off and Sean Darring takes in a massive ovation from the crowd before he folds the robe up and tosses it aside to a stagehand. The referee motions for Windham Brody to come to center ring and once both men arrive he gives some insructions.] CHANEY: Brody is a taller than Darring and that size difference has to be a consideration. WATTERS: It should be. Plus, if Brody gets angry, he fights like an eight foot tall beast! CHANEY: Come on Larry! Eight feet tall? WATTERS: It's an expression! [DING! DING!! DING!!!] CHANEY: There's the bell and our first quarterfinal match is underway! WATTERS: Windham Brody has Darring completely in his head right now! CHANEY: Why are you saying that? I doubt Brody has anything Sean hasn't seen in all his years in the ring. WATTERS: That may be so, but look at him just circle around in there. Brody is just standing there! [Darring stalks around, circling Brody as the big man stands in the center of the ring. Every circle Darring makes he seems to be looking for the right opening.] CHANEY: Darring knows this first move could make or break how things finish. WATTERS: Move the wrong way and the big guy catches you and makes you suffer. CHANEY: Exactly! You have to think that is why he is just sizing him up. WATTERS: The man is four inches taller and over three bills! He isn't moving anytime soon! Get in there already and get going! [As if hearingthe annoucne crew, Darring seems to find something and lunges in only to end up grabbing the left arm of a moving Brody. Windham then slams the forearm of his right arm across his back and takes the veteran to his knees in front of him.] CHANEY: CLUBBING FOREARM FROM BRODY!!! WATTERS: That's what I'm talking about! Brody waited for the technician to go for something and then just used his massive strength! CHANEY: You make it sound like he broke new group, but that is the gameplan that has ALWAYS worked best for Brody! WATTERS: And you think Darring would know that, and yet here we are. [Brody wastes little time, pulling Darring to his feet and lifting him straight into the air before dropping him hard with a press slam lift. The crowd erupts in boos as Brody holds his arms out in a bragging way to them at ringside.] CHANEY: Look at how cocky Brody can be! He shouldn't be so confident against a wrestler of Darring's caliber! WATTERS: The one thing about people telling you that you shouldn't be conifident? CHANEY: What? WATTERS: Well it admits the fact that you have a pretty damn godo reason to feel confident to start with! [Windham bends down to pick up Darring and gets him back to his feet. The taller man holds his head by the hair with his left hand and then slams his elbow into Darring's face over and over. After five shots, Brody lets go and Sean staggers back into the corner.] CHANEY: BRODY WITH REPEATED ELBOWS!!! He is rocking Darring with those over and over! WATTERS: Darring got caught in the henhouse and now the big dog is taking care of business! CHANEY: I thought you respected Darring? WATTERS: You can respect someone for their past and still hope they get the crap kicked out of them in the present. I mean, come on! [Brody sizes up his prey in the corner and rushes in with a big boot, only to find Darring not there as he dropped to the canvas and slid out to the ring apron. Brody's leg ends up over the top rope and Darring gets to his feet and grabs it, yanking it down to extend the knee over the top rope. The fans erupt at the change of fortune.] CHANEY: DARRING FORCES THE MISS AND NOW HOT SHOTS THAT RIGHT KNEE OVER THE TOP ROPE!!! WATTERS: And that is the veteran know-how of a former world champion! Mark my words, Darring will focus on that knee even if he dies trying to get a submission. That is the opening he sees now. CHANEY: Well it is a pretty good one! Look at the pain Brody seems to be in! WATTERS: The bigger they are, they more they shoudl protect their knees. It is almost sports law! [Brody falls back into the ring and is holding his right knee as Darring gets back into the ring and stomps his foot against that same knee. Brody rolls away after the first stomp and avoids the next one, but Darring is quick and grabs hold of the leg as Brody ends up on his stomach.] CHANEY: Darring on the attack now! WATTERS: Brody better keep his head on a swivel! CHANEY: Darring seems to be a man possessed with going after that leg! WATTERS: I told you so! [Darring holds that leg and lifts it before sharply driving the knee into the canvas. The fans cheer him on as he maintains his hold and looks out to them and then does the same lift and driving slam on it he did just before. Darring lets go and the fans cheer him on loudly.] CHANEY: DARRING DRIVES THAT KNEE INTO THE MAT AGAIN!!! How much can a knee withstand? WATTERS: Well from experience, about twelve of those very moves depending on the strength andheight of the man delivering them. CHANEY: I'm not even going to ask about it, I'm moving on! WATTERS: It really is a great story as I still won that match despite the knee injury. [Darring grabs the leg and signals for the figure-four leglock. He pulls the leg into place and spins around, dropping into the hold and Brody suddely lurches as if he has been electrocuted! Windham begins fighting the hold as best he can as referee Marshall Noblitt is asking about whether Brody submits or not.] CHANEY: FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK BY THE LEGEND!!! WATTERS: This hold so often doesn't end a match, but after that knee issue anythign can happen. CHANEY: Brody looks like his body has no ability to shield pain! He is all over the place. WATTERS: BUT he isn't tapping out! CHANEY: That's true! WATTERS: He can allow himself to feel the pain all he wants, as long as he doesn't tap that canvas! [Brody tries moving side to side in order to flip the hold over, but Darring is fighting it off with his superior skills in the ring. Even with that skill advantage, Brody's size is making this a difficult hold to maintain. With each swivel, Windham gets closer and closer to escape.] CHANEY: Brody is fighting hard to escape and using that size advantage to the best he can! WATTERS: He is starting to really sway it over and with his size, if he flips it, Darring could be in trouble. CHANEY: Sean Darring is managing to keep the hold, but the balance on it is REALLY tenuous! WATTERS: He coudl roll any second now! [Suddenly Referee Noblitt lunges in and calls for the hold to break. Darring is confused, but Noblitt uses hand gestures to show that Darring's hand went under the ropes while he was fighting off the reversal and that forces a break. Darring lets go and jumps up to argue that point, but he stops after only a few seconds.] CHANEY: THE REFEREE FORCES THE BREAK AND DARRING IS NOT HAPPY!!! WATTERS: In all honesty, I've never heard of that reason for a break, but he is the referee. CHANEY: Darring gives him a piece of his mind there for breaking that hold. WATTERS: He better be paying attention! [Darring turns around as Brody was pulling himself up in the corner. Sean rushes over, but before he can make contact, Brody's size advantage plays out again with a lunging lariat that drops Darring to the canvas.] CHANEY: BRODY WITH A CRUSHING LARIAT THAT SENDS BOTH MEN DOWN!!! WATTERS: He had to push with that right leg for it to connect well and now he is grabbing it as he lays on the mat! CHANEY: As you like to say, sometimes you have to pay a price to make a dent. WATTERS: I cannot believe you quoted me to me, Chaney. [Both men are down and trying to pull themselves up. Darring is up first, but eats a hard right jab from Brody when he moves over to attack. Brody gets up to his feet and limps a step over to land another hard right hand that staggers the smaller man into the corner.] CHANEY: BRODY REFUSING TO GIVE IN AND USING THAT RAW POWER TO GET AN ADVANTAGE! WATTERS: You can't teach height or farm boy strength. Those things are God given! CHANEY: Did you have either? WATTERS: A little of the strength, but my skills were in the brain and knowing how to hurt people. [Brody slowly makes his way toward the corner and Darring uses that moment to ready himself, dodging the big fist and dropping for a chop block to the right knee. Brody falls down to the mat as the crowd erupts.] CHANEY: CHOP BLOCK BY DARRING AND BRODY IS DOWN AGAIN!!! WATTERS: They made those illegal in the NFL for a reason. Here we see Darrign using it to try and end a younger man's career! [Darring moves over to pull Brody up, but the big man shocks everyone with a small package roll up.] CHANEY: BRODY WITH A SMALL PACKAGE! WATTERS: WOW! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TTTHHHHHHRRRRR..........KICKOUT!!! CHANEY: DARRING ESCAPES!!! WATTERS: I seriously cannot believe that Brody pulled that off! CHANEY: Someone with the years and experience of Darring shouldn't get caught like that! I think we are all surprised there! WATTERS: He's pissed about it too, look at him! [Darring pulls himself up, angry that he got caught like that. He rushes to the ropes near Brody but still out of his reach and leaps to the second rope, propelling himself back for an elbow drop right on Brody's chest. It may have looked awkward, but it achieved the purpose.] CHANEY: FLYING ELBOW DROP BY DARRING!!! WATTERS: I love how you act like that was a skillful aerial move. Darring hit about the ugliest looking elbow drop in the history of elbow drops! CHANEY: Now you are just being mean, Larry. WATTERS: No seriously! The guy is a technician who wanted to stay out of reach, I get it. But damn that was ugly! (chuckles) [Darring quickly rolls Brody over before the bigger man can react and grabs his legs, pinning his left foot behind the right knee and implementing an inverted Indian Death Lock. Brody is struggling with his arms, but Darring has the high pressure of standing over the hold. Referee Noblitt is back asking Windham if he submits.] CHANEY: INVERTED INDIAN DEATH LOCK!!! Darring has it strongly locked in! WATTERS: The man needed the opening the ugy elbow gave him and he is back in control! CHANEY: Darring applying as much pressure as he can without getting near those long arms. WATTERS: He has a great position, but Brody isn't giving up without a fight! [Brody starts trying to push himself off the mat to take away the pressure, but he cannot escape. What he does do is take Darring just enough off center that he takes a hand to stead hismelf against the top rope and that puts Referee Noblitt again into motion to break the hold as the crowd erupts in boos for the escape.] CHANEY: NOBLITT AGAIN FORCES A BREAK!!! WATTERS: The kid is doing his job, Chaney! Give it a rest! CHANEY: Darring wasn't using the rope for any advantage though! WATTERS: Did he touch the rope? CHANEY: Yeah. WATTERS: Then it gets broken up! Those ARE the rules regardless of what you think about them! [Noblitt not only forces Darring away from Brody, but then refuses to let him re-engage the big man until Brody has shown he can continue. Darring yells "This isn't boxing, kid!" yet Noblitt is having none of it. The fans are booing as Brody slowly pulls himself up to his feet.] CHANEY: The fans are really giving the referee some trouble for allowing Brody back to his feet. WATTERS: I have to admit this isn't very smart and Darring is telling him correctly that this isn't boxing. CHANEY: Noblitt telling Darring he is in charge and to shut up. WATTERS: This kid is one weird referee. Talk about a power trip. I respect the effort, but you are a referee for crying out loud! [Brody is finally to his feet and Referee Noblitt asks him if he is ok. Darring again yells that this isn't boxing and he should get the....well get out of the way. Finally Noblitt moves and Brody lunges at Darring with a big aymaker, but Darring counters by grabbing the arm and quickly swinging around into his "Legend Lock" hold as the both crash to the canvas.] CHANEY: DARRING GETS THE LEGEND LOCK!!! HE HAS IT CINCHED IN!!! WATTERS: Not good for the big guy! They are almost dead center of the ring with no ropes in sight! CHANEY: Brody is trying, but not managing much movement! WATTERS: Referee is looking at this one really hard. I wonder how this one gets broken up? [Brody cannot move and seems to be unable to escape and after several seconds, Noblitt calls for the bell as the crowd erupts.] CHANEY: IT'S OVER!!! DARRING WITH A VICTORY BY SUBMISSION OVER BRODY!!! WATTERS: I never saw Brody submit, just that kid referee signalling for the bell! [Darring releases the hold as the bell sounds and gets to his feet, raising an arm in victory.] CHANEY: Sean Darring has advanced to the semifinals to be held at Showdown on December 8! WATTERS: That is going to be a helluva night, Chaney! CHANEY: It is and Brody will be teh first man in the top contender ladder match! WATTERS: That could end up in his favor with how tall he is! [The screen cuts away.]
[As commercials begin to play, this one runs first.] [The screen fills with flashing pictures of SCW superstars such as Pat Gordon Jr, Sean Darring, Freddie Sagawa, Caleb Foley and others all wearing new T-shirts for sale via the SCW Merchandise hotline. As each one flashes up we hear the familiar deep voice over the pictures.] VOICE OVER: Wanna wear the hottest new gear from the biggest names in the SCW? [We see pictures of some of the superstars pimping their gear. Prague Drinking Team taking a big gulps from their beers as they wears their "got pivo?" shirt. That is followed immediately by Las Preguntas showing off their new shirts with the Tag Titles around their waists.] VOICE OVER: Ever wanted to dress like your favorite SCW superstar? [The pictures come faster and faster for about 3 seconds until they just explode into a black screen.] VOICE OVER: Well now you can! [The words come over the screen in white letters, they say "SCW SUPERSTORE"] VOICE OVER: Just hit the website and find the gear you are looking to grab, then call this number to get the threads of your favorite superstars of the SCW! [The screen fades to total blackness again. The numbers come over the screen in white letters. It says 1-888-SHOP-SCW.] VOICE OVER: Just call the following number, One-Eight-Eight-Eight, SHOP SCW! That is One-Eight-Eight-Eight, Seven-Four-Six, Seven-Seven-Two-Nine. You must be 18 years of age or older to place any orders. [Fade to black.]
[The feed cuts backstage to find the ever-inquisitive Informer standing by his favorite person in SCW and her two acolytes. Presumably responding to a sign from off-camera, wrestling's most intrepid journalist wastes no more than a moment in launching into his spiel.] THE INFORMER: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guests at this time, Miss Lexi Darlington and Border Control. [The reporter now turns to Lexi as he asks.] THE INFORMER: Miss Darlington...gentlemen...another win to add to the tally, as we head towards SCW's first-ever iPPV event. An impressive record, to be sure... [This very soft ball is promptly taken up by Lexi – but not before the reporter has been treated to one of her dazzling smiles.] LEXI DARLINGTON: Why, thank you kindly, Mister Informer. Myself and Agents Lincoln and Washington do what we can to live up to the long and storied history of Southern wrestling. [Another brief but stunning smile throws the ball back at The Informer, who takes it in stride.] THE INFORMER: Do you think you can keep it going against the Trailer Park Assassinz in two weeks? [This brings about a peal of laughter from the two agents, along with a polite titter from their manager. It is with a benevolent smile on her features that Lexi replies, a moment later.] LEXI DARLINGTON: Why, Mr. Informer...I thought you journalist types were supposed to ask the HARD questions... [Here, The Informer himself cannot suppress a guffaw, which he indulges in for a moment before retorting.] THE INFORMER: Well, then...if you insist...a hard question. Today's match showed a moment of miscommunication between yourself and these two gentlemen. Could you clue our viewers in on why you reined in Agents Lincoln and Washington at the end of the match? [If this unexpectedly serious question rattles Lexi, she does not show it. Instead, the same pleasant grin remains on her features as she replies.] LEXI DARLINGTON: Of course, Mr. Informer. There's really a very simple explanation. I was simply reminding Agents Lincoln and Washington not to spend energy unecessarily. After all, we DO want them to be in peak physical form for their iPPV match in 2 weeks, now don't we, boys? [The two agents are quick to nod in agreement, but The Informer is still not fully satisfied.] THE INFORMER: Does that mean you consider the Assassinz a threat? [Another round of hysterical laugher erupts at this – one which even Darlington indulges in. It therefore takes the Border Control manager a long moment to compose herself enough to reply.] LEXI DARLINGTON: Oh, Mr. Informer...you're such a hoot, bless your cotton socks! [The Informer responds to this with a sheepish grin, as Lexi continues.] LEXI DARLINGTON: Of course those two TERRORISTS and their TERRORIST LEADER are not a threat. These fine all-American boys have shown time and again that they are more than a match for those two insurgents! Have you noticed how they haven't so much as shown their face tonight, after the lesson these boys taught them two weeks ago? [Behind Darlington, the two Agents indulge in a snickering, self-congratulatory low-five, as their manager continues.] LEXI DARLINGTON: But, you understand...it IS an iPPV...there will be more eyes on these two men than ever before...we DO want them to look their best. We want them to stand as a symbol of the great nation of America, proud and victorious. But to achieve that, it is VERY important that they conserve all of their energy from here until the day of the event. [The brunette looks away from her interviewer and directly at the camera as she concludes.] LEXI DARLINGTON: America picks her fights very carefully, Mr. Informer. And as proud representatives of this glorious nation...so should we. [With that, and a brief thank you, SCW's most controversial team and its ravishing manager exit stage left, leaving The Informer to close out the segment and send the feed back to ringside.]
[Tommy Gordon is standing backstage with El Gringo Loco and the SCW Lonestar Tag Team Champions, Las Preguntas. EGL is wearing both of the tag team title belts around his waist, one above the other, and chomping angrily on an unlit cigar.] GORDON: I'm standing here with El Gringo and the SCW Lonestar Tag Team Champions, Las Preguntas. EGL, earlier tonight we found out that Las Preguntas will be putting the titles on the line against Keegan and Davey-Boy O'Brien in a Texas Tornado Grudge Match, live at Showdown on iPPV. What are your thoughts? EGL: Que? No entiendo. No hablo Ingles. GORDON: Los titulos son... EGL: Of course I speak English! You've interviewed me before. Besides, your brother is in the Cartel, and he barely speaks a word of Spanish. GORDON: You've got me there. So what are your thoughts about Las Preguntas defending the belts against Davey-Boy and his mentor, Keegan, at Showdown? EGL: Personally, I think it's malarkey. That's what it is. We just defended the belts two weeks ago, successfully I might add! According to the rulebook, we don't have to defend the Lonestar Tag Team Championships again already. I don't know where they get off thinking they can force us to defend them at Showdown. This match shouldn't be for the titles! MARCA: Deja que Davey-Boy y Keegan luchen contra nosotros por los Campeonatos. Lucharemos valientemente y saldremos victoriosos. Demostraremos por que somos los Campeones en Parejas de SCW Lonestar! [EGL apparently disagrees with Marca's response.] EGL: No, no. No deberiamos tener que hacerlo. Ese no es el plan! [El Gringo Loco and Marca continue to argue unintelligibly in Spanish.] EGL: See what you've done, Tommy Gordon? I hope you're happy with yourself. Keegan, Davey-Boy, Las Preguntas will crush you at Showdown! [The three Cartel members storm off with EGL and Marca still arguing in Spanish.]
[The screen cuts back to the ringside announce table, where our broadcast dup is ready to go.] CHANEY: Looks like we have another match at Showdown! WATTERS: Yes it does, but I'm not sure how smart this one will be! CHANEY: What do you mean? WATTERS: Well Keegan hasn't wrestled in quite some time. In fact he was injured last time he was in there andnobody has ever known for sure if he has full clearance for such things. CHANEY: Well whatever it may be, those Lonestar Tag Titles are on the line at Showdown as Las Preguntas will defend against Davey-Boy O'Brien and his mentor, Keegan! WATTERS: Las Preguntas are already over five months as Lonestar Tag Team Champions and I don't see it ending anytime soon if this match actually happens. CHANEY: That is a cynical outlook, Larry. WATTERS: That is what I'm paid for, Chaney. Realistic viewpoints and the occasional bouts of psychological nudity. CHANEY: Goodness! WATTERS: I bring it every night, like always. CHANEY: Before I throw up in my mouth, let's turn our focus away from Larry's specific set of skills and discuss out next match as Jed Johnson takes on SCW newcomer Jonny Bedlam. WATTERS: Bedlam's debut continues to show the drawing power SCW has, even if we don't know how strong he will be once he arrives. CHANEY: Bedlam is a Texas man looking to make a big statement in his hometown! WATTERS: Well he was born in El Paso, Chaney. CHANEY: But he now resides in Dallas! So let's see how the hometown man fares in his SCW debut! Let's take it to the ring!
[As the camera switches to the ring, the following graphics fills the screen.]
[The graphic leaves and we see SCW Ring Announcer Aaron Buffington in the ring ready to go.] BUFFINGTON: Ladies and Gentlemen, this match is set for one fall and has a fifteen-minute time limit! Introducing first, weighing in at two hundred-six pounds.... J E D J O H N S O N ! ! ! [No music. No fanfare. Johnson walks out in his generic gear with a look of anger and frustration on his face. His eyes looking directly toward the ring as he walks down the aisle. The fans not reacting positively, more because he chooses not to placate them with music. No, they must deal with the stark reality that is a man like Jed Johnson. They will take every bit of it and either regret it or fall in love with him. He reaches the ring and steps through, refusing to even raise his arm in recognition of the paying consumer.] CHANEY: Jed Johnson is someone that we are, I think, still waiting to see the best out of, Larry. WATTERS: The guy is legit in the ring. And if he ever lets his full potential loose, somebody will feel some pain. CHANEY: You think that happens tonight? WATTERS: Who knows? Any given day, anything can happen. If it does, this is the guy who can do it! [Aaron Buffington goes to continue the introductions.] BUFFINGTON: And his opponent, standing six feet, two inches tall and hailing from Dallas, Texas! Here is... J O N N Y B E D L A M ! ! ! [The first few notes of "Bastards of Young" by The Replacements ring out across the arena. Jonny Bedlam strolls out from the back wearing a zip-up hooded sweat-shirt. When Westerberg screams after the first few notes of the song, Jonny takes the hoodie off and throws it into the crowd.] #God What a Mess# #On the ladder of Success# #You take one step# #and miss the whole first rung# [Jonny took in the crowd on the first verse, then ran Berzerker-style towards the ring and slid under the bottom ropes. He stood in the middle of the ring for a moment.] #We are the sons of noooooo one# #Bastards of young# [As the chorus came in, he pounded one side of his chest, then the other, then the other, then the other one last time then stuck one finger directly up into the air, and looked up.] CHANEY: The newest member of the SCW roster is former World Champion, Jonny Bedlam! WATTERS: "Jonny Two-belts" is now here and ready to roll! He seems a little too eager to talk to the sheep out there, but he has potential. CHANEY: Always ready to please the fans and being a native Texan, Dalls loves him immediately! WATTERS: Morons! At least let the man show what he can do before making him a hero! For crying out loud! [DING! DING!! DING!!!] CHANEY: There's the bell and Bedlam finally has his SCW debut! WATTERS: Jed's going to show this guy there are no easy matches in SCW! [A collar-and-elbow tie-up starts things off and Bedlam begins his SCW tenure by marching Johnson straight back to the corner, which causes the referee to call for a break, which Jonny and Jed both respect - or so it seems. Johnson attempts a sucker punch, which is about to earn him a reprieve from the referee, but Bedlam's invitation of a second tussle invites Johnson forward.] CHANEY: The referee's authority blatantly ignored there, which is surprising for Snider. WATTERS: Being tough in the outside world is different to being a tough guy in the world of wrestling, Chaney. Plus, they want to get at each other. The wrestlers are the stars here, not the referee. CHANEY: Same result here with Bedlam backing Johnson up into the corner. We'll see if the second instance is respected more than the first one. [Bedlam issues a 'SHH' to the crowd and WALLOPS Jed with a knife-edge chop that reverberates around the arena.] WATTERS: That's what you call heartbreaking. CHANEY: Figuratively or literally? WATTERS: Both. [A right hand decks Johnson, who is now lying on the bottom rope while still in the corner. A grinning Jonny looks out at the crowd, cheering his name and awe-inspired by the ferocity of that aforementioned chop, before scraping JJ up, presumably to do more damage.] CHANEY: Jonny Bedlam is enjoying himself in there. WATTERS: It's HIS match. Jed needs to turn it into a wrestling match, like he said he would in his interview, but it's a lot easier said than done when you're in there. CHANEY: And someone who's coming off a World title reign. WATTERS: Whose last match was a defeat. There's more than one way of looking at it, Chaney. [An ippon seo nage brings Johnson out of the corner in some style.] CHANEY: Jonny dipping into his Judo background with a takedown there. WATTERS: Wait, where's HE going? [Bedlam is up on the second rope, patiently waiting for a groggy Johnson to return to his feet. And, when the time is right....BRANDING IRON!] CHANEY: He's used more than once recently to bust out a victory! WATTERS: That could be that right there. CHANEY: Sure enough! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TTHHHHHHRRRRRREEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [The crowd erupts.] CHANEY: What an impressive debut by Jonny Bedlam, who is victorious in a minute over Jed Johnson. Surely, tougher tests await the native Texan in his home state, but he really did a number on Jed Johnson, who just couldn't get going. WATTERS: Bedlam fought his fight, but Jed Johnson was disappointing and underwhelming to say the least. That was a gift. [Bedlam has his arms raised in the air as Johnson rolls out and takes the microphone away before the official word can be read out.] JOHNSON: Wait a minute. Wanna go old school, Johnny? How about two out of three falls? [Jonny nods his head and looks to the crowd, who seem to approve, and Bedlam beckons for Johnson to 'bring it on.'] CHANEY: Jonny doesn't need to... WATTERS: No, he doesn't. Nothing to lose for Jed Johnson either, except for more pride, but he'll have to be much better than that and I expect him to be. Bedlam will be confident after that first fall though. Jed's work is cut out to secure two consecutive falls after Bedlam beat him in a minute flat. [The bell sounds again to signify the start of the second fall, an unexpected development, but here we are. Meanwhile, JJ storms forward and misses with a predictable lariat, hey we're in Texas, the native punishing him with a Russian leg sweep, ironically, as an effective counter.] CHANEY: And to add insult to insult... WATTERS: Isn't it injury? CHANEY: In this match? No. The so-called brawler, who Jed claims he can out wrestle, is applying a wrestling move on the man that puts the 'W' in SCW. [A grounded abdominal stretch keeps Johnson stationery, Jed really struggling to get to grips with Bedlam's paws gripping him, both technique and power proving problematic for the skilled grappler, who had done nothing in this encounter thus far.] CHANEY: Johnson is inching towards the ropes. WATTERS: About time. [Jed reaches the ropes and Bedlam doesn't release immediately, the referee up to 2 before Bedlam relinquishes his group.] JOHNSON: REF, get this motherf[BLEEP]r off me!! [Jed stands up and shoves Bedlam.] CHANEY: Poor sportsmanship and temperament. WATTERS: Forget sportsmanship, this is about winning. [A third tie-up finally goes Jed's way as he negotiates a side headlock.] CHANEY: Finally, Johnson gets some offence in. WATTERS: What did you say about temperament? Some people motivate themselves in different ways and Jed, who was disappointed with the first fall as he should be, is riling himself up to get more aggressive. CHANEY: Which could work in Jonny Bedlam's favor. WATTERS: It could. [Johnson's wrenching plays no part as Bedlam again shows wrestling 101 ability by reversing the side headlock into a hammerlock with Johnson kicking the canvas in frustration at being outfought, outthought and outmaneuvered once again.] WATTERS: Reversal by Jed. CHANEY: And, just like that, another reversal by Jonny. WATTERS: Yes, Jed is now back in control. [Bedlam stands with the hammerlock still on him and Jed, who suspects the elbow coming, ducks his head slightly. When it doesn't come, Johnson bobs his head back up, reminiscent of a swimmer coming back from air, and is then promptly punished by the elbow he has been keen to avoid all along!] CHANEY: Things just aren't going Jed's way at all, are they? [Bedlam bounces off the ropes and crashes into Johnson with No Siths Allowed - a springboard wheel kick from the second rope. 1...2...Johnson just does enough to push his shoulder up at around 2.75.] WATTERS: No, it's not HIS night, but it's not all down to bad luck. He has been poor in there and made some bad decisions. You have to say Jonny has the experience advantage and he has made it count, not to mention the support from all of these idiots and Jed hasn't dealt well with any of it. [A throat thrust by Johnson deprives Bedlam of oxygen and despite the warning from Shane Staggs, Johnson looks to capitalize.] WATTERS: That's what he needed. Come on, Jed. [Two European uppercuts find their mark and force Bedlam into the bottom right-hand corner of the ring, marking Jed's first real success in this match.] FANS: WHOO! WHOO! [Two chops, presumably receipts from the MASSIVE one doled out by Bedlam earlier, set Jonny up for an Irish whip attempt, but he manages to reverse it and send Johnson to the diagonally opposite corner instead.] CHANEY: Jed catches Jonny coming in with a reverse elbow. WATTERS: The pendulum is slowly swinging. [Johnson's second lariat attempt is also read as Jonny ducks underneath and goes low with a leg sweep, taking Johnson off his feet.] CHANEY: You were saying? WATTERS: Shut up, Chaney! CHANEY: Back to the hammerlock, Bedlam driving some knees into Johnson's side and Jed will hate that he's being beaten WITH wrestling as well as brawling. Johnson's been second best in every department this evening. WATTERS: But, Jed is back on his feet... CHANEY: And, again, not for long! [Tazzmission brings Johnson down abruptly and Bedlam appears to have the submission cinched in perfectly, reflected in how rapidly Jed is visibly fading.] CHANEY: Will Jed tap? [A variant of Please Don't Tap is utilized as 'don't' is omitted by the faithful who want to see their very own Jonny Bedlam secure the second and decisive falls here on his impressive debut. The referee raises Johnson's hand once, twice...] WATTERS: Not this way, Jed! [THRICE!!! Bedlam lets go of the submission as the bell sounds a second time to signify a 2-0 victory for Bedlam.] CHANEY: Back-to-back falls over Jed Johnson give Bedlam a brilliant debut win over Jed Johnson, and he made it look easy, Larry. WATTERS: He definitely did. He won't have it that easy in the future, but the former World champion certainly showed he belongs and we'll see what's next for him. CHANEY: Can you see him competing for our Lonestar Heavyweight championship in the near future? On that evidence, I certainly can. [Bedlam has his hand raised for a second time, he clearly enjoyed that workout, which is what it turned out to be rather than a competitive contest, but don't take anything away from Jonny, who looks in fabulous shape and ready to pick up where he left off and compete for the biggest honors this promotion has to offer.] WATTERS: Firstly, we've got to crown our champion, but let's not get carried away. We need to see more before we can say he beats ANY of our quarter-finalists... CHANEY: He beat Pat Gordon Jr to win his World title. WATTERS: Then, not now. CHANEY: Larry, he didn't use the two main weapons in his arsenal tonight and yet won two falls without them. Two is his magic number: Jonny two belts is his latest nickname, You're looking at a dangerous man. WATTERS: Dangerous to others or himself? CHANEY: Probably both, but we'll find out. [Jonny raises his arms again as the screen cuts away.]
[We open up backstage to soemthign shocking in the interview area....wait a second: there are TWO Informers backstage!] THE INFORMER: This is The Informer interviewing... [The second takes his mask off to reveal it's Kid Chameleon.] INFORMER: Kid Chameleon! CHAMELEON: Chris is a goomba not to see the height difference. INFORMER: Kid, Chris threw some accusations out there that it HAD TO be you that withdrew his name from the random draw, sending Tripp Skylark through to the second round instead of Smith, who insists he's set to make you pay at Showdown. Kid, was it you? CHAMELEON: He was in the ring when it happened and who was out there on commentary? Me. So, I can't be accused of being Public Enemy Number One. INFORMER: You have history together and you did impersonate yours truly to get ahead at Rampage Six. CHAMELEON: It's a-me, Mario! INFORMER: So, are you admitting you had a hand in what happened? CHAMELEON: Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters Their silence is your answer. [Kid walks away, leaving The Informer to ponder his special guest's riposte.] INFORMER: I can't tell whether that was affirmative or negative. Over to you, Mister Chaney and Mister Watters. [The screen cuts away.]
[The screen is black and the following words appear and then slowly disappear...] Somewhere Else. In the past. [lying upon a dark red Oxblood leather chaise longue in a mahogany wooden clad doctors office, a long, wavy haired blonde woman lies in her bright red dress. Her light holdups show their cuffs, her red heels are drawn upon the furniture. Her hands are clasped across her stomach, her eyes lightly closed. [Beside her, in a matching wing-backed chair sits a man wearing a Plague Doctors mask, a PVC apron, crisp white shirt and khaki corduroys. His legs are crossed over one another, the brown winklepicker on his left foot pointing in the air.] [The woman's cheeks are flush, beneath her eyes have reddened, illustrating a recent period of upset.] MAN: Tell me, whilst he was doing this to you, how did you feel? WOMAN: Well, [she sniffs,] at first I was scared. Maybe he would hurt me if I tried to get away from him. MAN: Ah, but then... [he interjects.] WOMAN: Well. After some time of this trauma I felt numb... [her words trail off as she looks away from the good doctor. He leans forward in his chair.] MAN: Tell me, [he hums] did you reach a climax that evening? [The woman sits up with a jolt, a look of disgust on her face.] WOMAN: Of course not! Why, I was... I was forced upon! MAN [OVERLAPPING]: FORCED?! What do you know of forced? [As he screams at her he stands, and from nowhere a hammer comes into view. He quickly raises it above his head and slams it into the woman's temple. Blood squirts from the wound, splattering against the oxblood chaise lounge. The woman makes no noise except a thick, dull thud as she hits the floor of Isaac Danvers' office.] [The camera cuts to a closeup of her deadened eyes, wide open. A moment later the brown winklepickers come into view as Isaac Danvers looks over his patient.] [Static.] [Cut.]
[We open up backstage to The Informer.] INFORMER: The REAL Informer here and fans I want to show you some video that we recovered recently from a security camera... [The screen switches to show the following video footage...] [In the middle of a light but dull room lies a black hat on the table. Suddenly, the door handle turns and someone enters with a handheld camera, edging towards the table. The individual shines a torch on the hat, rummaging through the slips of paper before picking up the one they are after - SMITH. Thereafter, the person takes the piece of paper out and replaces it with another, which clearly has SKYLARK written on it and then moves the pieces of paper around before hearing footsteps. This mysterious party quickly scurries out of the room before a returning Chris Hopper, a bottle of Mountain Dew in hand, reenters the room.} HOPPER: Okay, let's get this draw done. [The footage ends and goes black.] [The screen returns to The Informer, now standing next to "Big Kid" Chris Smith. Smith is staring down the interviewer with a very suspicious glare.] INFORMER: Allow me to bring in 'Big Kid' Chris Smith and get some reactions. SMITH: Do you mind taking your mask off? INFORMER: I do, absolutely. SMITH: You seem taller than him. [A ridiculous notion given this, the real Informer, is roughly the same height as Smith whereas Chameleon is comfortably eight inches smaller. Talk about paranoia.] INFORMER: I am glad you're now seeing things with a clear head. You must be bitterly disappointed... SMITH: That doesn't cover it. I mean - the luck of the draw? Bad enough. And, now, it seems it wasn't unlucky at all. PERHAPS someone else called KID, who happens to have a vendetta against me, broke into the office and took my name out of the hat. What do you think, Mister Informer? You're the investigative journalist, after all. INFORMER: It could be a credible theory, Mister Smith. However, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of other suspects or reasons as to why this happened. [Chris shook his head.] SMITH: We all know who it was. Not only will I prove Kid Chameleon DID it, I am going to HUMILIATE him at Showdown for what he has done to me and make him pay a serious price. Then, I'm going to seek apologies from Chris Hopper from his comments on air and compensation from SCW for lost earnings. I'll do that for me, the discriminated against, the victims and of course, the kids. [Fade to black.]
[We return to the broadcast area at ringside where both members have surprised looks on their faces.] WATTERS: I cannot believe I'm saying this folks, but Chris Smith seems to be right! His name was switched out and someone cheated him out of the opportunity at the Lonestar title! CHANEY: There is only one man thatit can be, Chaney. WATTERS: I don't know anybody who would do such a thing! CHANEY: It has to be Kid Chameleon! That guy has messed with Smith multiple times, cost him matches in the tournament, and even disguised himself as an interviewer just to get pot shots in. It is the only guy it could be! [Is handed a paper and he looks at it.] CHANEY: Well we have a few announcements suddenly, Larry. WATTERS: Do tell? CHANEY: First, Chris Smith has asked that Kid Chameleon ace him at Showdown and if Kid refuses to do so, he would be barred from SCW for life. I'm not sure if that stipulation was ever granted, but Kid actually did agree to the match! So we have another match for Showdown locked in! WATTERS: That one is great! Finally that little freak gets squashed like the bug that he is! CHANEY: The other announcement is that the Son of Malta versus Big Boss Hogg match will not happen tonight. WATTERS: What the hell?!?! CHANEY: It seems that while discussing things backstage, Son of Malta and Gordon Gaines got into a scuffle with the Health Fanatics. We weren't able to get footage of it, but this note says that it was decided to let them finish it at Showdown in the ring. WATTERS: Another good match! Now we can see if Gaines has truly learned anything or if Somner and Matthews stretch him to submission! CHANEY: Looks like Showdown continues to shape up to be a great night of action already! WATTERS: It really has. Now we have Sean Darring in the semifinals and Windham Brody in the top contender ladder match. It is getting interesting! CHANEY: And speaking of the future, Border Control is up next on the dockett! WATTERS: Lexi Darlington andvher boys ought to be in line to give Las Preguntas a run for the titles. CHANEY: Ought to be, but they have matches like tonight against the O'Malley Brothers. WATTERS: Those boys debuted well last Rampage, but this isn't going to be easy for them. CHANEY: Perhaps not, but Border Control hasn't been tested much. So let's see if the O'Malleys have what it takes to tear down the Border Control! WATTERS: Good luck kids! CHANEY: Let's head to the ring!
Introducing first, making their way to the ring... [The opening guitar rift from "Have A Drink On Me" rips throughout The Phoenix as the crowd starts to pop in excitement.] #Whiskey, gin and brandy# #With a glass I'm pretty handy# #I'm trying to walk a straight line# #On sour mash and cheap wine# #So join me for a drink boys# #We're gonna make a big noise# #So don't worry about tomorrow# #Take it today# #Forget about the check# #We'll get hell to pay# BUFFINGTON: ...weighing a combined four hundred and eighty pounds...Marcus and Anthony... T H E O' M A L L E Y B R O T H E R S ! ! ! [The brothers come out from behind the curtain to the loud cheers of the fans. Marcus stands in the center of the stage with his kendo stick raised high in the air with his right hand as Anthony bounces all over the stage getting the fans riled up.] #Have a drink on me# #Have a drink on me# #Have a drink on me# #Have a drink on me (on me)# #Get stoned# #Have a drink on me# #Have a drink on me (yeah)# #Have a drink on me, come on# [The brothers reach ringside as Anthony slides under the bottom rope while Marcus steps up the ring steps and through the middle rope and into the ring. They stop in the middle of the ring and give an Impact Players-like pose as Anthony flexes like Shawn Michaels and Marcus poses behind him holding his kendo stick high in the air as the fans cheer loudly.] CHANEY: These guys had a great debut and tonight they face the toughest challenge to date in SCW! WATTERS: Perhaps their toughest challenge EVER! Border Control is a different breed, Chaney! CHANEY: I can't argue with that thinking as Lexi Darlington has her guys beating down everybody and the O'Malleys, whoa re known to be scrappers, may be tougher than anynone thinks. WATTERS: Doesn't matter. They have braun and they have brains. Their to lose. [Aaron Buffington goes to continue the introductions.] BUFFINGTON: And their opponents, at a combined weight of 550 pounds, the team of Lincoln and Washington...the B O R D E R C O N T R O L ! ! ! [John Phillip Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever" announces the arrival of agents Lincoln and Washington, collectively known as the Border Control. As they come out through the curtain and onto the entryway, the two members of the team share a slight glance and a nod, before each stepping slightly to one side, to open a corridor down the centre of the ramp.] CHANEY: Look at those guys! They look ready for battle! WATTERS: And those O'Malley boys are regretting traveling south about now. [Into this corridor, a moment later, comes the wheeled lectern carrying the third member of the divisive group, manager and aspiring politician Lexi Darlington. Lincoln and Washington's attitude is deferential almost to the point of devotion as they clear a path for their employer, taking the time to make sure everything is in order with Darlington's chosen means of transportation before beginning to make their way to the ring. The reaction for the duo is split straight down the middle as they walk down the ramp, always keeping one step ahead of their manager.] CHANEY: Border Control is a team that nobody truly wants a brawl with, but yet they always manage to turn a match into one. WATTERS: Always accentuate the positives, Chaney. [Before the match has even begun, Lincoln – the legal man for Border Control – engages in a spot of clumsy, pantomimed Irish river-dancing, clearly meant to insult, deride and hopefully rile up Anthony O'Malley, the legal man for the fan-favourite O'Malley Brothers. This, however, backfires on the Border Control agent, as instead of showing irritation, Anthony plays along, performing an Irish jig of his own, much to the delight of the fans in attendance!] CHANEY: Kid Lightning showing Flat-Foot Lincoln how it's done! WATTERS: I preferred it Lincoln's way...it's more American! CHANEY: ...it's an IRISH dance, Watters... It's actually pretty disrespectful of Lincoln to be doing it in front of a real Irishman. You have to respect Anthony for being the bigger man and having fun with it! WATTERS: You don't know for SURE that it's disrespectful. I mean...I'm one- seventeenth Irish. Maybe Lincoln is too... [Chaney, perhaps wisely, chooses not to pursue this line of argumentation, instead focusing his attention on the ring, where Lincoln's incessant jaw-jacking has finally achieved the desired effect, and riled up Kid Lightning enough for him to step forward and push Lincoln on the chest! A smirk can be seen on the Border Control agent's features as he pushes back, directing some more comments at his opponent. These appear to make Anthony even more upset than before, and the next time the legal O'Malley Brother steps forward, he is swinging a punch!] WATTERS: Uh-oh! BLEEP's about to get real, Chaney! [Not quite, as it turns out, as Lincoln is able to easily block the punch, swatting it aside as he connects with a kick to O'Malley's midsection! Then, as the Irishman doubles over to catch his wind, the Border Control agent follows it up with a facebuster, driving his opponent into the mat!] WATTERS: Lincoln showing why he was personally hand-selected by Lexi Darlington to be one of her bodyguards... This cat's the REAL Kid Lightning! [Chaney holds his tongue this time, perhaps finding yet another argument to be pointless, just as, in the ring, Lincoln directs a few more mocking words towards his fallen opponent. This time, however, that strategy backfires, as when he leans over to bring O'Malley to his feet, he is surprised with a flurry of punches to the stomach! The crowd comes alive as, caught by surprise, the Border Control member steps back, and O'Malley lunges forward with a spinning clothesline attempt! Lincoln, however, sees it coming and ducks under, popping up behind O'Malley and once again gaining the upper hand by throwing the Irishman over with a fallaway slam!] CHANEY: Kid Lightning thrown over into the Border Control corner, and this could spell trouble for him! [Indeed, no sooner has Anthony begun to roll over to his feet than Lincoln is barging in yet again, pinning the Irishman to the post with a big clothesline! A moment and a glance at his partner later, the smaller of the Border Control agents stretches out his hand to slap that of his bulkier associate, making Washington the legal man for his team!] WATTERS: Uh-oh...that cat's DEFINITELY in trouble now! [And indeed, the first few moments after Washington has taken over from his partner do not at all go Anthony O'Malley's way. Still dazed from Lincoln's clothesline, the fan-favourite Irishman is incapable of getting out of the corrner quickly enough to avoid being at the receiving end of a series of football-style shoulder barges from Washington. One, two, three tackles connect with the dazed O'Malley Brother, each connecting with visible impact and succeeding in wearing down the plucky Irishman.] WATTERS: I don't know what school Washington went to, but the football team sure was worse off when he graduated! CHANEY: ...are we SURE he graduated? [This moment of uncharacteristic sass from the usually mild-mannered Chaney is, unsurprisingly, completely no-sold by his partner, who instead reverts his attention back to the squared circle. Inside it, Lincoln – clearly thinking he has hit O'Malley with enough football tackles to hold him in place – backs up a few steps, looking to rush back in with a big corner splash. No more than a moment later, he does exactly this, running forward as fast as his big frame will allow him...] [...only for Anthony O'Malley to duck out of the way, sending Washington chest-first into the turnbuckle!] CHANEY: Kid Lightning comes alive! [That does indeed seem to be the case, as no sooner is he out of the corner that Anthony O'Malley seeks to do unto others. Washington has barely recovered from his collision and begun to turn around when he is pinned to his own team's turnbuckle by a razor-sharp crescent kick, which succeeds in rocking even as big a man as he is.] CHANEY: Lightning strikes! WATTERS: ...you just HAD to, didn't you? [Such is the impact of the kick that Washington takes a moment to recover, which O'Malley takes full advantage of, rushing in and bringing the Border Control agent into more neutral territory with a tilt-a-whirl headscissor takedown!] CHANEY: Anthony O'Malley turns the tables! WATTERS: ...for now... [Seemingly woken up by the swift tumble, Washington is quick in attempting to return to his feet...but not quick enough. The Border Control agent is still halfway to a vertical position when O'Malley rushes in once again and connects with an enzuigiri, flooring the bigger man once again!] CHANEY: The O'Malleys really do seem to have turned the odds in their favor here, and Marcus O'Malley hasn't even been in the ring yet. So not only are the O'Malleys in control, they have a fresh man on the outside – UNLIKE Border Control. This could be a crucial factor for them here, Watters. WATTERS: Bah. The All-American boys will get back on top eventually. America ALWAYS wins, Chaney! Don't you watch movies? [Once again, Chaney's only response to this is silence, as in the ring, O'Malley rears up once again, looking to hit a leg lariat...] [...only for Washington to spring up and catch his opponent in mid-air, reversing O'Malley's attempted strike into a spinebuster of his own!!] WATTERS: DID YOU SEE THAT?! DID you SEE that, Chaney? WHAT a reversal! CHANEY: I must admit, that WAS impressive from Washington, using his size and strength advantage to get right back into this match! WATTERS: And he'll STAY on top now, too. Just you watch! [In fact, having regained control. Washington seems rather confident of maintaining it. Proof of this is that, rather than covering his opponent or bringing him up to his feet, he instead chooses to take a moment to regain his bearings, leaving Anthony O'Malley totally free to shake off his own cobwebs and return to his feet. Once he does, however, the reason for the big Agent's confident attitude becomes apparent, as Washington promptly rushes forward and drops his opponent again, this time with a big Spear! O'Malley goes right back down again, and Washington lets his momentum carry him over to the corner, where he slaps Lincoln's outstretched hand, making the tag!] WATTERS: Aw, Washington is letting his partner share in the fun! Isn't that sweet! ['Sweet' is, however, not the word that comes to mind looking at Lincoln's devilish grin as he re-enters the ring and walks forward to stand behind his opponent. He patiently waits until the dazed O'Malley has pulled himself all the way up to his feet...then promptly drives him back down again with a bulldog! The crowd shows their disapproval as their favourite face-plants, and Lincoln turns to his corner to share a mocking gesture with Washington and manager Lexi Darlington. He then holds up a finger as if to say 'watch this', waits for O'Malley to pull himself back up again...and repeats the move, immediately causing the Irishman to faceplant!] WATTERS: Lincoln's having fun! CHANEY: That's just uncalled for! WATTERS: What are you, the Fun Police?! Let the man have his fun! [And Lincoln certainly does appear to be having fun – so much so that he positions himself to pull off the stunt a third time. THIS time, however, something clues O'Malley in to the fact that his opponent is coming, and the Irishman whirls around, stopping Lincoln in his tracks with a spinning clothesline! The Border Control agent is sent reeling, and Anthony, seizing his chance, promptly steps forward to grab Lincoln in an underhook position and floor him with his trademark spinning sitout double underhook facebuster!] CHANEY: The BROOKLYN BOMBER connects, and here's the first cover of this match-up! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO! . . . . . . . . . . . TH---NO!!!!! CHANEY: Two and a HALF! O'Malley nearly won this match out of nowhere! WATTERS: Nah. Lincoln was just caught by surprise. All-American boys like him and Washington are made of sturdier stuff than that! [O'Malley seems no less disappointed than Chaney that the move did not put Lincoln away, but as a seasoned veteran and former Champion, knows not to dwell on it for too long. Instead, after taking a moment to consider his options, he decides to try to end the match for good. He leans over, brings Lincoln to his feet, traps his head between his legs, and launches himself into the air...] [...only for Lincoln to reverse the move into a big back body drop!] WATTERS: DENIED! [Having recaptured the upper hand, Lincoln apparently decides it is high time he stopped messing around and went about winning the match. Proof of this is that, instead of toying with Anthony O'Malley as he had been doing until then, he instead surges forward, arm outstretched, looking for a match-ending lariat!] WATTERS: WELCOME TO AME--- CHANEY: NO! The leapfrog from Kid Lightning...and the inverted DDT connecting! What a reversal! [The crowd seems to agree with Chaney, and greets this eye-catching moment with a salvo of cheers. Anthony himself appears pretty pleased with himself, thumping his chest and yelling in delight. Once again, however, the Irishman's tag veteran instinct kicks in, and he promptly goes about assessing his options.] [It does not take him more than a moment to decide – as he locks eyes with his brother, leaning as far forward as the tag rope will allow, arm outstretched, the smallest of the O'Malley brothers knows now is the time. He therefore makes his way over to his corner, and tags in his partner and brother!] CHANEY: And now here comes Big Brother Marcus! [Marcus O'Malley wastes no time introducing himself to his opponent, promptly pulling the dazed Lincoln to his feet and directly into a suplex party. Before the Border Control agent can so much as become aware of what is going on, he is subjected to a spinning belly-to- belly suplex, followed soon afterwards by an overhead variant of the same. As he hits the floor, Lincoln seeks to scramble to his feet, but Marcus, being fresher, is quicker to react; no sooner has he regained his bearings than the hapless Agent is sent flying once again with a snap suplex! He lands on his back, facing away from Marcus, and the bigger of the O'Malley Brothers wastes no time taking advantage of this, bringing his opponent to his feet once more and promptly executing a flawless release dragon suplex!] CHANEY: Marcus O'Malley taking Agent Lincoln to Suplex City! WATTERS: Where is that, Ireland? It's gotta be in Ireland, right? [Wherever it is, Lincoln is definitely not enjoying his visit – which is extended by, in quick succession, a T-Bone suplex, a release German suplex, and, finally, a Northern Lights suplex, which Marcus predictably bridges over into a pin! The referee slides in and counts!] ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO! . . . . . . . . . . . ---NO!!! WATTERS: YES! Score another one for Team America! [Despite the commentator's enthusiasm, however, things still seem dire for 'Team America', as their legal representative is allowed to roll over onto his feet, only to be sent rocking by a European uppercut!] [Upper hand retained, Marcus promptly switches tactic, exiting Suplex City in favour of Slam Central! A rolling fireman's carry slam introduces Lincoln to this new landmark, quickly followed by a fallaway slam as he once again attempts to scramble to his feet. Another mad scramble follows, but Marcus is relentless, and promptly drops the Agent again, this time with a simple powerslam which nevertheless delights the crowd, who appears to enjoy seeing Lincoln suffer.] [Aiming to please them, the former multi-time tag team Champion now seeks to put an end to proceedings, as he scurries up the turnbuckle with surprising nimbleness and, upon reaching the top, polishes his bald head, smirking. The crowd erupts as he then pulls himself fully upright and leaps off with the diving headbutt called Greetings from the Big Apple...] [...only for Lincoln to move out of the way!!!!] WATTERS: NOBODY HOME! [Marcus hits the mat with a splat, but Lincoln makes no attempt at regaining the upper hand. The smallest of the Border Control agents has clearly had enough, and promptly hobbles over onto his corner to tag in his partner, who has not had to endure his two journeys and is therefore much fresher. The instructions as he tags in Washington are clear – 'finish it!' - and the second Border Control member promptly goes about fulfilling them, as he makes a beeline for his opponent, bring him to his feet, and drapes him over his shoulder, looking for the running powerslam known as Deportation!] WATTERS: Here we go, Chaney! [Watters spoke too soon, however, as Marcus is able to slink out of his predicament and reacts the only way he can think how – by pushing Washington forward and causing him to lose his balance long enough for him, Marcus, to tag in his brother!] CHANEY: Marcus tagging in his brother again...and he seems to be feeling the effects of that bump... WATTERS: He needs to rest his noggin! [That does seem to be the case, and the biggest of the two O'Malleys does seem grateful for the chance to tend to the bump on his head and leave the outcome of the match in the hands of his brother.] [In his semi-dazed state, however, he fails to see what occurs at ringside the moment Anthony becomes the legal man – namely, Border Control manager Lexi Darlington getting up on the apron. The would-be politician is, however, not armed with any sort of foreign object in this instance, but rather, with kisses – or at the very least, kissing gestures, which she directs at Anthony O'Malley.] CHANEY: What is she do---oh. OH that Jezebel! [Indeed, the sight of an attractive woman has left Anthony transfixed, and Lexi's air- kisses act almost like a siren call, bringing the Irishman ever closer to the apron – and away from his downed opponent. Darlington and company have clearly done their homework on the O'Malleys, and now look poised to used that knowledge in their favor.] [Oblivious to all this, Anthony continues to succumb to Lexi's Southern Belle charms, his attention now completely on the Border Control manager as opposed to the match at hand. Predictably, this is just what Lexi was hoping for, and the Irishman is surprised when the manager's kissy demeanor gives way to a smirk. A moment later, Lexi directs one final little wave at Anthony before pointing over his shoulder, winking, and hopping off the apron.] [Only at this moment does Anthony snap out of his reverie and realise what he has got himself into. His heart sinks as he begins to turn around...] [...only to get scooped up by a fully recovered Washington, who promptly drapes him over one shoulder!] WATTERS: HA! This is why America always wins! We're SMARTER! [The smallest of the O'Malley Brothers puts up brave resistance, but is powerless to free himself as the bigger man rushes forward and drops him with a devastating running powerslam!] WATTERS: Yee-haw! Adios, amigo! [Deportation connects, and the referee slides in to count the pinfall..] ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO! . . . . . . . . . . . THREE!!!! [And Lexi Darlington's flirting skills steal another win for Border Control's mounting tally!] CHANEY: Another resounding victory for Border Control! WATTERS: These guys are easily the best big man team we have in SCW! CHANEY: And they aren't even in the title hunt. WATTERS: YET! Just mark my words they will be champions soon enough! [After the match, Lincoln and Washington look ready and willing for some after-the-bell fun with their dazed and confused opponents; Darlington, however, signals for them to join her at ringside, and none of the duo's vehement protestations manage to budge her. As such, Lincoln and Washington have no choice but to follow her up the ramp and through the curtain, leaving their opponents to collect their bearings in the ring. As the trio make their way up to the entrance platform, the two men still questioning their manager, they walk close enough to one of the cameras that its microphone catches Darlington's simple, to-the-point explanation.] LEXI DARLINGTON: ...he was cute... CHANEY: I'm at a loss for words, Crusher. WATTERS: Yeeeaaahhh.....I got nothing. [The screen cuts away.]
[We cut backstage where we spot "The Legend" Sean Darring who defeated Brody Windham in the opening match. The grizzled veteran shows signs of a hard-fought match. The Legend finishes wiping the sweat from his face and tosses the towel aside as he turns to the camera and speaks.] LSD: First off let me offer my respect in a hard-fought battle with Brody Windham. Brody has a reputation for being as tough as they come. While he is a bit of a bully and I enjoyed teaching him a lesson. I have no problem admitting that he has earned that reputation of being tough. [The Legend gives a nod of respect for the hard-fought match earlier in the night.] LSD: The theme of the night is one step closer. In a tournament like this, you can only take it one match at a time. Tonight it was Brody Windham. Next week it's the winner of Alfie Button and Sagawa. [The Legend pauses thinking about his potential opponents.] LSD: The path towards being the first SCW Champion isn't an easy one. I had to shake ring rust and take on the best of the best through the mighty group of death. Tonight, my path continued down a difficult task with Brody Windham. At Showdown it doesn't get any easier. Both Alfie Button and Sagawa has earned their stripes so far in the SCW. Button has given the Celtic Crippler his share of fits. He has built his resume early. You don't want to overlook him or count him out. [The legend nods as he continues to address his potential opponents.] LSD: Sagawa on paper is as dangerous as they come. The last time we saw that warrior he left the ring bloodied and broken. Like the rest of the SCW universe, I am waiting to see how that affects him tonight. On paper, a healthy Sagawa is one of the favorites of this tournament. However, part of the challenge of a tournament like this is staying healthy. We all have our share of bumps and bruises. Wrestling fully healthy goes out the window after the first show. However, if Sagawa survives tonight, I think the question on all of our minds is how will Sagawa's injuries come into play. I never take anything for granted. [A legendary grin.] LSD: I will have a front-row seat in the back. Be it Alfie Button or Sagawa ... May the best man win. Injuries or not, I take nothing for granted. However, to the winner - [A closeup.] LSD: I am here for one reason and one reason only. To continue to test myself night after night. To continue to wrestle at the legendary level that I have always wrestled at. I am confident and I am ready to get the job done. The group of death is what I signed up for. A hard-nosed battle with Brody Windham is what I expect. At Showdown, I expect another battle. I expect another test. However, I expect to win. [A pause letting that sink in.] LSD: Button ... Sagawa ... Good luck. The winner becomes another chapter in my legacy. One more run at the gold. [One final legendary grin as we fade.]
[The screen is black and the following words appear and then slowly disappear...] Somewhere else In the past. [The wind howls as the brisk autumn evening draws in. Clouds fly across the deep purple sky, the moon coming and going from view as the clouds roar past. The few remaining amber leaves relinquish their grip on the trees and fly through the air. Crisp, brown leaves roll around the slightly overgrown grass underfoot.] [Standing beneath a large tree stands a tall, powerful man in corduroy pants and a white shirt, sleeves rolled to the elbow. He looks down at his own grave, half dug, from where he had previously clawed his way out.] [Issac Danvers.] [He kneels by the grave, pulling a small box no bigger than his palm from his pocket. He clenches it in his fist and punches it into the soft ground. The dirt gives way easily, having already been dug, a cavity remaining open beneath the grassy earth.] [Issac stands, cleaning his hand on the butchers apron that he is wearing. He collects the shovel that is leaning against the tree and begins to hack away at the ground. It soon gives way, which allows him to start to shovel dirt into the cavity, burying two things.] [The small box.] [And the bigger one in which he used to reside.] *******TIME ELAPSE******** [Time passes and the grave becomes full. Issac, huffing for breath, stabs the shovel into the mound of dirt, standing it up.] [As he does, he hears a noise. An owl hoots in the distance.] [He hears another noise. Closer this time. He turns his masked face around the graveyard, but can see nothing.] [Suddenly, automatic gunfire reigns down upon him. He dives to the ground, rolling over the grave, taking the shovel down with him.] [He scoops the shovel up as he rolls to his feet and takes cover behind the broad trunk of the tree.] [The gunfire continues, Wood splintering around his head. He is pinned down by gunfire. He risks a peek around the tree trunk, hoping to see which direction the shots are coming from. They sound closer now. Approaching him at speed.] [He swivels his head back behind the trunk, a shot clipping the tree right by his face as he does.] [Then, as suddenly as it began, it ends. A deafening silence fills the graveyard. Issac can only hear the ringing in his ears from the gunfire.] [Then footsteps. They are approaching with confidence. There is no hesitation. No stealth to this walk. Issac turns around the tree and is met by a strange man wearing a bag of Heatburst BBQ & Chilli Doritos.] ISSAC: I knew you would come for me. DORITOS: That's What she said. ["TO BE CONTINUED..." flashes up on the screen and then we cut to black.]
[Steve Blaine is standing in the interview area next to superstar Alfie Button. He raises his microphone and gets down to business.] BLAINE: Alfie Button, I have to start with the shocking events that took place at the end of Rampage Seven. Did you watch it, what are your thoughts and how do you see your match with SAGAWA going in light of what happened? [A massive sigh is let out by the Londoner, who ruffles his distinctive black mane and then nods his head.] BUTTON: Yeah, I did, mate. Disgustin', innit? Psychotic lived up to 'is name, din't 'e? What a nasty geezer, 'e is and you may reckon 'e's done me a favour, but I'm kinda bummed out by it, you know what I mean? BLAINE: No, I don't. BUTTON: Free outta free, Stevie, son. Nobody's got a better record than me in this tournament. Like I keep tellin' people, they're all mutton dressed as Button. I wanted SA-GA-WA at his Kanye. [Steve is genuinely bemused by that reference.] BLAINE: Kanye? BUTTON: Kanye West, best. Keep up, Stevie. Yeah, so I'm actually gutted that the fans 'ave been robbed of a proper barn-burnin' dust-up between Freddie and Alfie, SA-GA-WA and Button coz they were in for a real treat, believe you, me. BLAINE: You sound confident of going through to the semi-final. BUTTON: I'm always confident, aren't I? But, yeah, even more so and I don't take any pleasure in it whatsoever. Listen, 'im a 'undred percent and this is like going to 'ell on a scooter wiv a onesie on, but I'd still fancy mah chances coz I do against anyone in the biz. I'm standin' 'ere not even sure we're gonna 'ave the match because 'e ain't recovvered and is it any wonder? I'd ravver 'ave anovver opponent or give 'im a week moar, but they've told me it ain't possible. I ain't 'appy abaht it at all, Stevie. I don't wanna do it this way, mate, don't 'ave to. I've proven myself against Chris Smiff and Caleb Foley and I wanted to 'ave a row with SA-GA-WA 'ere at Rampage, knockdahn, dragout classic wiv the poor bugger and give these fans their money's worf. I really did. BLAINE: Good luck, Alfie. [Alfie extends his hand to Steve.] BUTTON: Cheers, mate. [The shake hands and Alfie exits.] BLAINE: As you can see, Alfie Button is ready for anything! [The screen cuts away.]
[The screen returns to our announce team, sitting at ringside.] CHANEY: Great stuff from Alfie Button and the crowd here in Dallas really loves him. WATTERS: Love from fans may not be enough if Sagawa is healthy enough to go tonight. CHANEY: We will know about that soon enough, but if sheer will is a factor, Alfie Button will make a real run at the Lonestar Title. WATTERS: Anything can happen in the SCW, we have seen that tonight already! CHANEY: And we could see it again soon! Our next match is our second quarterfinal pitting Tripp Skylark against former world champion Pat Gordon Junior! WATTERS: This could be a great match or it could be a snore. CHANEY: Why do you say that? WATTERS: It all depends on whether Skylark has had his...uhm....medicine or not. CHANEY: Are you seriously going there, Larry? WATTERS: It's a legitimate question! he could hurt himself or others in there! CHANEY: Let's see how this one plays out before Larry goes full conspiracy Theorist on us! Take it away Buff!
[As the camera switches to the ring, the following graphics fills the screen.]
[The graphic leaves as "Boomer Sooner" (the University of Oklahoma fight song) plays. El Gringo Loco steps onto the stage behind Pat Gordon, Junior. EGL is wearing both of the Lonestar Tag Team Championships around his waist, one above the other, and Pat is carrying his black "It's in the Bag" duffle bag over his shoulder. They are met with boos from the fans as they make the trip to the ring.] WATTERS: Here he comes, the rightful winner of Group D! CHANEY: What are you talking about? Sean Darring beat him and won the group. WATTERS: But Pat Gordon, Junior had it in the bag! You know Darring cheated. CHANEY: Gordon was the one who tried to get disqualified and then just walked out of the match, Crusher. WATTERS: And Darring had no right to stop him. CHANEY: He had every right! He was in the match! This next quarterfinal match here in the Lonestar Heavyweight Title Tournament is a rematch of sorts. Pat Gordon, Junior, who took second place in Group D, will face Tripp Skylark, who won his group in a somewhat controversial fashion. WATTERS: I'll say! How do you determine who makes it through by drawing names out of a hat? They could have taken non-tournament matches into account, used a computer to analyze statistics, had a sudden death final like that cage match. Hell, they could have even done bubblegum bubblegum in a dish! But drawing names out of a hat? C'mon! CHANEY: It was Chris Hopper's decision to make, Crusher, and he gets paid the big bucks to make those kinds of decisions! Anyhow, these two faced off before in what was an absolute classic in non-tournament competition. WATTERS: And who won, Chaney? Pat... Gordon... Junior. That's who. CHANEY: That's true, but it was very close. WATTERS: C'mon, Chaney, close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenades. You know that. [El Gringo Loco obtains a microphone from the timekeeper's table as the duo enters the ring.] WATTERS: Quiet, Chaney! The Boss of the Cartel and the Oklahoma Orthodontist have something to say! EGL: BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIENVENIDOS! a SCW Rampage... es... LOCO!!! Yo soy El Gringo Loco, el jefe de El Cartel, y este es el primer Lonestar Heavyweight Campeon de la historia de SCW... Patricio Gordon! [EGL hands the mic to Pat Gordon, Junior.] PGJR: So two weeks ago on Rampage, the unthinkable happened... I lost to Old Man Darring. CROWD: YOU TAPPED OUT! YOU TAPPED OUT! PGJR: Isn't that just peachy? I'll give this to you, Darring, you fought like I was trying to take away your Social Security check, but that doesn't mean your win wasn't a fluke. I'm still the man to beat. I'm still the uncrowned Lonestar Heavyweight Champion. I've already won this tournament! But for tonight, my quarterfinal opponent is Tripp Skylark, a guy I already beat! So Tripp, if you're not too high to lace your boots, why don't you get out here so I can show everyone in this tournament what's waiting for them. Because I've got this... [Gordon pats his duffle bag.] PGJR: In the bag! [Pat laughs and hands both the microphone and the bag to EGL, who takes them with him to ringside. From there, Aaron Buffington announces the rest] BUFFINGTON: And introducing his opponent, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, weighing in at 187 pounds... T R I P P S K Y L A R K ! ! ! [The fans rise to their feet and begin to let Tripp hear their ovation for him. The noise is simply deafening, especially because Tripp doesn't even bother to have any music played for him! He just struts on out behind the curtain, sporting his street clothes, and those damn sunglasses. Quickly he makes his way down the aisle, smiling at the fans as he gives some high fives to the crowd left and right. He rolls underneath the rope, and stands up in the middle of the ring. He drifts back to his corner, getting ready for his match with a few stretches.] WATTERS: Pat Gordon, Junior doesn't want to wait for the bell, and he takes it right to Tripp Skylark with that knee to the back in the corner. CHANEY: What a lack of unsportsmanship, attacking Tripp from behind! WATTERS: I think it's a smart move, Chaney. Besides, Skylark's the one who turned his back on his opponent. He should know better. [DING! DING! DING!] CHANEY: There's the bell, and Barry Snider is trying to get some order, giving Pat Gordon, Junior an earful about his sneak attack. [Pat shrugs off Snider and wails on Tripp's back with punches and the occasional double axe handle. Snider grabs Gordon's shoulder and pulls him out of the corner. He sticks his finger right in the Oklahoma Orthodontist's face, giving him a strict warning.] WATTERS: C'mon, Snider shouldn't be interfering in the match like that! CHANEY: He's just trying to make sure the proceedings are fair, Crusher. Gordon ignores Barry Snider's warning and drives another knee into his back. WATTERS: He just slams Skylark's face right into the turnbuckle! That's why they call him the Oklahoma Orthodontist, Chaney. CHANEY: Gordon drags Tripp's face across the top rope, and now he's just choking him against the ropes! WATTERS: I'm liking this aggression from Pat Gordon, Junior tonight, Chaney. [Barry Snider issues a warning for Pat Gordon, Junior to stop choking Tripp against the ropes. When Gordon fails to adhere to his mandate, the referee starts the count.] ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! CHANEY: Barry Snider physically forces the break, and now he's giving Pat Gordon, Junior a lecture about adhering to the rules. If he's not careful, he could get himself disqualified and end his tournament run tonight! WATTERS: Oh, you'd like that, wouldn't you, Chaney? CHANEY: I wouldn't shed any tears over it, Crusher. Gordon goes back to work on Tripp Skylark, who is still trying to catch his breath, and he crotches him on the top rope! WATTERS: You know what's coming, now: the Rocky Road to Dublin! [PGJR starts to shake the top rope up and down with Tripp Skylark still straddling it, giving him a rough ride.] CHANEY: Pat Gordon, Junior goes into the ropes and comes back looking for the clothesline, but Tripp Skylark counters it with a springboard dropkick! [The crowd comes alive.] WATTERS: Beautiful move. CHANEY: Did you just pay Tripp Skylark a compliment, Crusher? WATTERS: Hey, I'm not biased like you are, Chaney. CHANEY: Tripp brings Gordon back to his feet, and he's giving him an atomic noogie! Pat Gordon, Junior doesn't like that! [PGJR stomps his feet up and down and flails his arms about before shoving Skylark off of him. The Wizard of Weed bounces off the ropes and comes back with another dropkick that knocks Pat Gordon, Junior down.] CHANEY: Another dropkick from Tripp Skylark, and now an armdrag. He turns Gordon over and clamps on an armlock and half crab combination. WATTERS: That really caught Pat Gordon, Junior by surprise! CHANEY: Too close the ropes, though, and Tripp Skylark has to break the hold. Gordon rolls out to the ring apron, and Tripp goes after him. [The Muskogee Mauler doubles Tripp Skylark over with a knee to the gut.] WATTERS: Pat was ready for him with that knee, and now he's got him in a double underhook. This doesn't look good for Tripp Skylark! CHANEY: Skylark hooks his leg around the middle rope to block it. Gordon gives it another try, but still no dice. And look! Tripp Skylark counters, and he's got Pat Gordon, Junior up on his shoulders! It looks like he's going for a DVD on the ring apron! WATTERS: But Gordon is smart! Look at him holding onto the top rope. That's the benefit of having someone as experienced as El Gringo Loco in your corner. CHANEY: And he's hanging onto that top rope for dear life, Crusher. [PGJR catches Tripp with a knee to the side of the head. He knees him in the head again, and after the third knee, Skylark drops the Muskogee Mauler back onto his feet on the apron.] CHANEY: Gordon steps back into the ring. WATTERS: Ooh woo hoo! Did you see that? He just smashed Tripp Skylark's head right into the ringpost! [Tripp falls to the mats on the ringside floor. PGJR climbs down the ringsteps, more than willing to take the fight outside the ring. He brings his 420 friendly opponent back to a vertical base and locks up for a suplex.] CHANEY: Slingshot suplex onto the ringside floor! And those pads don't offer much protection, do they, Crusher? WATTERS: No, they do not. There really isn't much to that thin padding. I know that from experience. [Barry Snider orders Pat Gordon, Junior to bring the fight back into the ring. With the damage done, the Oklahoma Orthodontist obliges, rolling Tripp Skylark under the rope and following him inside.] CHANEY: Gordon with the cover. WATTERS: This could be it! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . THHHRRR............KICKOUT!!!!!! CHANEY: Tripp kicks out at two! WATTERS: So close! CHANEY: And now Pat Gordon, Junior with that blatant choke! He's not even trying to hide it! WATTERS: He really wants to send a message to everyone else in this tournament, Chaney. [Barry Snider counts.] ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! [Junior breaks the hold and rolls Tripp Skylark, who is still holding his poor, nearly crushed trachea, onto his stomach. He fishhooks the insides of Skylark's cheeks and looks straight into the nearest camera.] PGJR: See this, Foley? See this, Button, SAGAWA, Psychotic, Darring? This is what's waiting for you. Ha ha ha! [The Oklahoma Orthodontist breaks his fish hook hold with an elbow smash to Tripp's face.] CHANEY: Pat Gordon, Junior is even more vicious than usual tonight after that loss two weeks ago. WATTERS: He wants to show everyone that his loss to Darring was a fluke. [The Muskogee Mat Master picks up Tripp Skylark and turns him around. He slaps on a hammerlock and lifts him off the canvas.] WATTERS: FLYING HAMMERLOCK! CHANEY: We've seen this from Pat Gordon, Junior, before, that hammerlock lift. It looks brutal. WATTERS: Oh, it is, Chaney. He's using Tripp Skylark's own body weight to put a tremendous amount of pressure on his elbow AND his shoulder! Let's see if he gives up! [Barry Snider asks Tripp if he wants to submit, but he answers with a crystal clear "NO!" Gordon starts to shake him around a bit.] CHANEY: Tripp Skylark refuses to surrender, and eventually Pat Gordon, Junior has to put him down. WATTERS: That's the only thing about that move, Chaney, people start to get heavy after a while. CHANEY: Gordon with a whip into the ropes. He ducks his head for a back body drop...GUILLOTINE FACE DRIVER BY TRIPP SKYLARK! WATTERS: Pat Gordon, Junior might need a real orthodontist after that one! CHANEY: Tripp makes the cover. He hooks the leg... [Barry Snider counts the pin attempt.] ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . THHHRRR............NO! Gordon kicks out! CHANEY: Close call there, but a two count only says referee Barry Snider. [The Oklahoma Orthodontist checks over his dental work, and that gives Tripp Skylark enough time to catch him with a backfist right in the kisser!] CHANEY: Skylark into the ropes... Gordon ducks the clothesline. Skylark ducks the clothesline attempt from Gordon. Tripp catches him with an atomic drop and follows up with a back breaker drop! What a combo! WATTERS: But he's not going for the pin. This could be a huge mistake, Chaney. CHANEY: Tripp Skylark brings Pat Gordon, Junior back to his feet. He's got him up and... spikes his head into the mat with a death valley driver! There's the cover. [Snider with the count!] ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . THHHRRR............NOOOOOOO!!!!! WATTERS: GORDON GOT HIS SHOULDER UP! CHANEY: Right you are, Crusher, and Barry Snider confirms it's only a two count. [Pat Gordon, Junior is in a bad way. Tripp Skylark looks to go for the finish. He brings Pat Gordon, Junior back to his feet, but PGJR hits him with a headbutt out of sheer desperation.] WATTERS: IRISH KISS BY PAT GORDON, JUNIOR! CHANEY: Both men are wobbly after that Irish Kiss headbutt. Gordon, though, is still feeling the affects of Tripp Skylark's recent offense. Skylark locks up for a suplex. WATTERS: PAT REVERSES INTO THE GORDON'S FISHERMAN SUPLEX! CHANEY: Gordon into the bridge. He locks his fingers together. Barry Snider with the count. ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . THHHRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [DING! DING! DING! ] [El Gringo Loco climbs into the ring to celebrate with Pat Gordon, Junior. They are both all smiles as EGL raises Pat's arms in victory.] WATTERS: Pat Gordon, Junior is now 2-0 against Tripp Skylark, Chaney, and most importantly, he's clinched his spot in the semifinals! CHANEY: Indeed he has, Crusher, and he was a lot more aggressive in doing so tonight, as well. WATTERS: I told you he could do it! CHANEY: Don't forget fans, we still have the other two quarterfinal matches to come tonight as Alfie Button faces SAGAWA and, in the main event, Caleb Foley takes on Johnny Psychotic! [The screen cuts away.]
[Standing by with the masked, undercover investigator here in SCW, The Informer, is a returning team we haven't seen for several weeks. The crowd spares little expense in welcoming back hometown favorites, The Rich Family.] THE INFORMER: Freddie, Todd, Declan and Donny. Texas is delighted to see you back in SouthWestern Championship Wrestling and in action against American Revival. How do you assess your own chances against this in-form outfit? FREDDIE: Informer, are you suddenly the tag team correspondent or just Lexi Darlington's lapdog? Don't worry about it, big guy. You wouldn't be the first person in wrestling or life to be pus... [The Informer is wide-eyed, even through the mask, as Freddie's cousin spares everyone's blushes and sharply intervenes.] TODD: Pushed around by women. Informer, we've been gone too long and tonight, The Rich Family is back and better than ever. We lost to Las Preguntas and we've done a lot of soul-searching, had honest conversations and we're ready to get back on the horse. DECLAN: Family is what it's all about and no matter what, we're a unit and that gives us an advantage in so many situations. We've also come back from so many near- misses... DONNY: BLAH, BLAH, BLAH! American Revival...we're gonna beat you. DECLAN: That's intelligent, isn't it? DONNY: Less boring than all the crap coming out of your mouth. DECLAN: No wonder you're not... [In that moment, Freddie puts his hand on Declan's shoulder and gives him a 'shh before staring down the barrel.] FREDDIE: Forget American Revival. Tonight, there's a Rich Family revival right here in Dallas, Texas. That's your headline, Informer. [The de facto leader slaps the unsuspecting informer in the chest, akin to shoving a newspaper into his upper body, before leading the troops off and into action to mark their return to SCW.] [The screen cuts away.]
[Camera is backstage and you see "The Celtic Crippler" Caleb Foley sitting in a locker room. He is already in his ring gear ready for his upcoming battle tonight. He looks up at the camera and smiles.] FOLEY: There comes a time in every man's life, one must truly step back, and look at themselves, honestly, and openly. They must look at their downfalls, and their successes in life, and how they went about achieving such. They must honestly tell themselves that if they _didn't_ get the job done, then what the hell...life will move on. If they did, then smile in the mirror, and know you got the job done. [Brief pause.] FOLEY: But you can't complain and moan. You can't make excuses. You get knocked down then get back up and just smile. No one every said life or this business is easy. If it was then everyone would be doing it. It takes a certain type of person to succeed in this. Most promoters will tell you whatever you want to hear just to get you to sign on the dotted line. I didn't feel that when SCW came knocking on my door. They talked to me like a person and gave me their undivided attention. Something no other company has every done to me in my entire career. That to me spoke values about their character as a person. They had a plan and wanted to see it through. [Foley stands up from the bench he was sitting on. He begins to pace back and forth. ] FOLEY: So after three months I must say SCW has brought their A game. They have competitors who are hungry. Eight men remain looking to be the first ever Lonestar Heavyweight Champion. Some people may think a man of my size has no business being inside the ring competing for the top title. That I have had my opportunity. Go ahead and judge me. I am used to being the little guy in promotion. But please if you are going to judge me then judge me not by physical size or appearance, but judge me by the size of my character and heart because that is what matters. Which leads me to my opponent this week in Johnny Psychotic... [A look of intensity and fire is coming from The King of The Gingers as he continues to speak.] FOLEY: Johnny, you would learn wisely from this quote; "Strong people make as many mistakes as weak people. Difference is that strong people admit their mistakes, laugh at them, learn from them. That is how they become strong." This quote alone proves between the two of us, I am stronger and you are the weaker. You're weak because you fail to realize that you did indeed that... you failed. And I am not talking about failing as a human being but I have done my research. I have watched countless hours of your matches and you don't have the look of someone who is hungry. You try to play mind games with your opponents but it will not work on me. You say your focused and prepared but I know deep down inside you Johnny, you are really worried about it. Think about it; everything so far indicates I am more prepared than you. Yes, I've done this method before; but that is what makes me strong. I have admitted my mistakes. I know where I can improve but you think you are better than everyone. [Caleb smiles as he checks to make sure his wrist are taped properly.] FOLEY: The best me possible is who I am right now. I am fresh. I am rejuvenated. I am hungry for competition. You and I both find ourselves at crossroads. We are both fighting to get one step closer to the top of the food chain. One step closer to being the man that holds the Lonestar Heavyweight Tile. [A smile comes across the face of Foley as he mentions the Lonestar Heavyweight Title.] FOLEY: You've never faced someone quite like me, right? You're not used to this much resistance. The problem Johnny is simple – you can't handle the truth. The truth that maybe you aren't the alpha male, you aren't the best in SCW. I am the better wrestler, you and I both know it. And you can't have it both ways, you can't call me a thief and play the victim card and then turn it around and call me the victim and call it revenge. It doesn't work that way. You don't know what to call it because you don't know what to do. That's the truth, Johnny. I can't wait for later tonight because I will finally prove to you and everyone else watching that I deserve a shot to shine. I am not past my prime. This is my opportunity and I am going to take full advantage of it. This will not slip through my grasps. This is why I came back to the business and nothing will stop me from advancing to the next round. Good luck Johnny. May the best man win. [Caleb Foley exits the locker room with force. The door slams shut behind him and you hear a warrior scream on the other end of the door as the feed cuts out.]
[Backstage - Colby Prince and Ryan Paris are standing by boots laced and hands taped. The American Revival have that jolt in them ready for their match later in the evening.] PRINCE: Tonight is the night. You see we inked our names ready to face the best tag team wrestling offers. Everyone has been raving about the tag team division down in Texas. And the name that sits at the top of that list is the famous Rich Family. [The American Revival are expressionless as they continue to address the SCW.] PRINCE: I can't think of a more fitting way then to announce our arrival and our intentions then to step inside that ring and dismantle Texan's finest. The past few matches are going to look like a cake walk compared to the bloody train wreck left into that ring. Dallas's own CSI is going to have to come to the ring to identify the Rich Family when we are done with them. [Still without expression Ryan hops in.] PARIS: Some may call that harsh. The rest may call it disrespectful. We don't disrespect the Rich Family. No you see it's quite the opposite. We respect them so much that they are going to be our Mona Lisa. They are going to be our message to the SCW- verse that there are a couple of new sheriff's in town. Up until this point the SCW tag teams have had things a little too easy. [Colby agrees with his partner.] PARIS: Teams like Masked Bros, Sweaty Bling, and Prague Drinking Team have made a mockery. Don't get us started on our so-called champions. So it's our duty to bring discipline, respect, and honor back to tag team wrestling. So tonight we cut the head off the snake. We make a statement at the unfortunate dismantle of the legendary Texan Rich family. It's not something we enjoy doing. However, as soldiers and warriors of the trade. It's our duty and mission to make a strong statement tonight and stand as the top contenders and your future SCW Tag Team Champions. [Not even a smile forms at the lips of the Revival.] PRINCE: You are looking at the best tag team in professional wrestling today. Impacts make statements. Patience is for weak. We control our own destiny. The biggest explosion ... The loudest bang gets attention. PARIS: Rich Family you are our statement. [Prince smashes his hands together making a loud noise.] PRINCE: You are our explosion. PARIS: It's not personal. PRINCE: It's not even business. [The camera zooms in on the American Revival.] PARIS: It's survival of the fittest. [Black.]
[The action returns and cuts to the ring as the sound of Gala's "Freed from Desire" is just fading from the sound system of The Phoenix and London's Own Alfie Button can be seen talking with Referee Barry Snider in one of the corners.] CHANEY: "Welcome back Ladies and Gentlemen, in a segment that WAS scheduled to have been a Lonestar Title Tournament contest pitting Alfie Button against a man who was absolutely brutalized in last weeks Steel Cage Main Event, SAGAWA." WATTERS: "But as we know, nobody has seen hide nor hair of The Madman from Japan since he rolled off a stretcher and stormed off into the night following Rampage." CHANEY: "So the verdict has come down from Hank Wright, Chris Hopper, and the office .. well .. we will have Aaron Buffington explain."
[As the camera switches to the ring, the following graphics fills the screen.]
[The graphic leaves and we see SCW Ring Announcer Aaron Buffington. And as if on cue, the view cuts up to the ring where Aaron Buffington is receiving last minute instructions from Referee Barry Snider. Nodding his head in understanding, he turns his gaze towards the hard cam and goes into "professional mode."] BUFFINGTON: "The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and was to have been a Quarter Final Match-up in the Lonestar Title Tournament. Introducing first in the corner to my left, he hails from London, England and weighed in tonight at two-hundred and four pounds. He is - A L F I E B U T T O N ! ! ! [Stepping out from his corner of the ring, Button raises a fist in the air and salutes the confused crowd as they respond with cheers.] BUFFINGTON: "I have been informed by Referee Barry Snider, that Alfie Button's scheduled opponent now has ten seconds to appear, otherwise this match will be considered a forfeit." CHANEY: "This is NOT how SAGAWA would want this to go down." [No sooner are the words out of the Ring Announcer's mouth, then they are met with some jeers.] WATTERS: "And it does not sound like this is what any of the fans wanted either." [But the official has no other choice that he could possibly make as he turns towards the timekeeper and calls for the bell to begin the match.] DING! DING! DING! [As Alfie climbs up to sit on the top rope, Referee Barry Snider begins his count ... ] ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . THREE! CHANEY: "Folks, it has been a long hard road to get to where we are tonight - but I will say if _anybody_ earned themselves a bye in the tournament it has to be Alfie Button. He made it here by scoring more points than anyone else in the tournament ... " WATTERS: "And he did the stand up thing by requesting officials delay this contest as long as they possibly could to give The Kochi Cannibal a fair shake.] FOUR! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . FIVE! WATTERS: "But on the opposite side of things, what a hellacious road SAGAWA has had. After ridding SCW of "The Conceited Bastard" Chase Williams, he jumped right into what can only be described as a Blood Feud with Johnny Psychotic." SIX! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . SEVEN! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . EIGHT! CHANEY: "If you've been on the internet, on the message boards, or paying attention to the scuzzlebutt about tonight - one of the most highly anticipated match-up amongst fans of SCW was the one between Alfie Button and SAGAWA." WATTERS: "You can say that again ... But don't." Crowd: "SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA! SA-GA-WA!" WATTERS: "No, I said don't say it again!" CHANEY: "That isn't from me .. LOOK!" [Quickly the camera pans over the crowd and one of the entrance tunnels that leads to the seating areas of The Phoenix. Standing there amongst the throngs of fans in Dallas is the individual that has been Missing in Action since the last Rampage.] CHANEY: "SAGAWA IS HERE!!!" WATTERS: "Physically maybe." [Because SAGAWA looks like the proverbial "death warmed over" as he starts to make his way through the fans and towards the ring, the excited lot patting him on the back in support. Meanwhile back in the ring, Alfie Button fights the good fight but interrupting the official's count and telling him somewhat audibly that "This match is happening!"] CHANEY: "Button said he wanted the match, and it looks like he is going to get it! But look at SAGAWA, I don't think he has even had a shower since he last appeared on our screens. Those shorts are still bathed in his own blood .. he has turned his black tanktop into a tourniquet of sorts as it is tied around his head .. and his face is still crusted with his own life forces." WATTERS: "But we have said it a million times. If SAGAWA has a breath left in his body, he will _always_ fight." [Leaping over the guardrail, SAGAWA dives underneath the bottom and scurries back to his feet rather quickly as he comes face to face with Alfie Button - who has his hand extended in sportsmanship. A baffled SAGAWA glances down at the hand ... ] WATTERS: "Psychotic tried for a handshake once - and we all saw how that ended." [... but this time SAGAWA extends his hand and accepts the handshake, nodding his head, in a show of appreciation. Alfie has some words for SAGAWA as well, but what they say is unheard as Referee Barry Snider calls for the bell once again to make the match-up official.] DING! DING! DING! CHANEY: "It's go time!" [Ready to do battle, Alfie Button starts to back away from SAGAWA - who does not relinquish his grip on the handshake and instead smiles an almost cartoonish smile that stretches from ear to ear. The grin almost says "I gotcha" to which Alfie Button responds with an amused wink. Planting his feet, Button tugs forward on SAGAWA and smacks him on the back of the shoulder and he sends him careening towards the ropes with an Irish Whip.] CHANEY: "Both men playing with each other right out of the gate! SAGAWA to the ropes, but Button doesn't let go - instead he steps in as SAGAWA rebounds and bends over, tossing SAGAWA over his shoulder with a judo-esque throw! But SAGAWA is back up - he charges! Leapfrog from Button over The Kochi Cannibal, who stops dead in his tracks!" WATTERS: "Button turns on his heels and SAGAWA is right there! SAGAWA pulls his head back - RED MIS - BUTTON'S ARMS UP - " [But instead of spewing the Red Mist that we have seen so many times, SAGAWA shoves his tongue out through the clear gap in his broken teeth and blows raspberries at Alfie Button. A bit confused, Button pauses and it is just long enough to allow SAGAWA to respond with a ... S M A C K ! ! ! ... and open hand smack to the neck that echoes through-out the building. Without missing a beat, Button fires back with a smack to the neck of his own ... S M A C K ! ! ! ... and then SAGAWA returns fire ... S M A C K ! ! ! S M A C K ! ! ! S M A C K ! ! ! S M A C K ! ! ! S M A C K ! ! ! Whipping the fans in Texas into a frenzy as they leave their seats, clap their hands and stomp their feet in rhythm with the shots. Beads of sweats flashing in the lights as they unload on one another.] WATTERS: "I don't care if they respect one another or not, they are laying those shots in! Look at the hand prints on the side of their necks." CHANEY: "Well you need to bring it, if you want to advance in the Lonestar Title Tournament!" [After SAGAWA connects with another traded chop, Alfie Button suddenly stops and throws one hand into the air, while pointing at it with the other hand and calling for a high five. A tad baffled, SAGAWA stares up at it before going for the high five, only to find his fingers interlaced with those of the English Superstar.] CHANEY: "Button now in control as he has the finger lace on The Aokigahara Angel of Death! Button runs towards the ropes .. to the second .. to the top .. Button balances on top and he LEAPS!!! Stunning leaping armdrag takes SAGAWA for the ride across the ring." WATTERS: "Dazed and confused, SAGAWA back to his feet as he spins around in search of Alfie. SAGAWA now throws his hand up ... " [Mimicking the antics that just transpired, SAGAWA points up at his raised hand to which Alfie Button pauses for barely a beat before shaking his head back and forth. The Kochi Cannibal stares back at The Londoner, confused as to why he won't fall for the antics before pointing at his open hand once again.] WATTERS: (Laughing) "Is SAGAWA seriously trying to get Button to fall for his own trick?" CHANEY: "I would be more worried if Button DID fall for it. But no! Button slaps SAGAWA's arm out of the air and goes for a backhand smack - SAGAWA ducks! SAGAWA for a backhand of his own, and now it is Button with the duck as he spins The Madman from Japan around, waistlock and he follows him into the ropes - O'CONNOR ROLL ON SAGAWA!!!" WATTERS: Both men over into the pinning predicament as Ref Snider drop- NO! SAGAWA kicks out before the one!" [But one step ahead of the game, Button uses the momentum from the kickout to propel himself up onto the middle portion of the second rope as he regains his balance. As SAGAWA rolls back to his feet, Button turns and leaps back towards SAGAWA and sends him barreling across the ring once again.] CHANEY: "SPRINGBOARD ALITA ARMDRAG!!! SAGAWA goes flying across the ring and rolls to the outside!" [Feeling safe on the floor, SAGAWA tries to regain his wits about him, but feeling the momentum clearly within his grasps, Button runs the ropes and goes charging towards the side of the ring where SAGAWA waits. As he nears the strands he turns and pushes off the canvas, executing a moonsault over the top rope and towards the floor.] CHANEY: "FOSBURY FLOP!!!" WATTERS: "SAGAWA DIVES INTO THE RING!" CHANEY: "BUTTON LANDS ON HIS FEET!" [Realizing their exchange of offensive and defensive maneuvers managed to do nothing but excite the crowd, Button and SAGAWA exchange a look before SAGAWA starts to run the ropes on the far side of the ring. Diving under the bottom rope, Button slides nearly 3/4 of the way across the canvas and lands in a drop down position as SAGAWA leaps over him.] CHANEY: "SAGAWA hits the ropes one more time as Button rolls over onto his back and spins - here comes SAGAWA - BOBBY DAZZLER! Kip-Up Hurricanrana! And SAGAWA send to the floor once more!" WATTERS: "These two haven't even paused to breath ye- JIMMINY H CHRIST! Button is back up, rebound once again - SAGAWA turns on the floor - LOW-PE SUICIDA FROM BUTTON!!" [This time the attempt connects as SAGAWA is driven backwards by the bottom rope suicide dive, and is driven spine first into the guardrail. But before Button can bounce back off of him, SAGAWA hooks his head and shoulders and throws himself forward for an attempted STO.] CHANEY: "Even when they connect they keep going! STO from SAGAWA, but Button rolls through - CRUCIFIX DRIVER ON THE FLOOR!!!" WATTER: And THAT one landed! [A nearby camera shot picks up the dull thud of the Crucifix Driver on the concrete as the back of SAGAWA's head hits the concrete and his make-shift tourniquet goes flying. Ready for some more fast pace offense, Button rolls to his feet and raises both fists into the air, but SAGAWA lays there clutching at the back of his skull and kicking his feet violently in the air.] CHANEY: "That landed harshly!" [The excited expression on the face of Alfie Button quickly turns to one of concern though as SAGAWA doesn't fight back to his feet quickly and he notices a small puddle of blood starting to pool on the floor of the building - reminiscent of the parting shot from the last episode of RAMPAGE. Glancing up at the ring, Button points the situation out to Referee Snider who quickly bails to the outside to check on SAGAWA, while Alfie climbs back into the squared circle.] CHANEY: "Alfie Button showing some concern for SAGAWA, who it looks like may have reopened one of his wounds from that vicious cage match with Johnny Psychotic." WATTERS: "THIS is why you take medical attention when it is afforded to you." [The situation becomes much more clear as SAGAWA starts to sit up, and the camera gets its first glimpse of the gaping wound that cuts its way across the back of SAGAWA's bald skull - a good four to five inches in length. The after-effect of the chairshot that ended the cage match finding its way back into the Lonestar Title Tournament.] CHANEY: "That does not look good. Referee Barry Snider checking on SAGAWA who is waving him off. It looks like SAGAWA wants to fight." WATTERS: "I feel like I sound like a broken record, but that referee has full authority to stop this at any time that he sees fit." CHANEY: "But lets face it, SAGAWA went through hell to get here - and I think he wants to give him the benefit of the doubt as long as he is capable of continuing." [Giving SAGAWA the benefit of the doubt, the official returns to the ring and starts to administer a ten count - while SAGAWA uses the ring apron to pull himself back to a vertical base. Pausing for a moment, he looks down on his hand which is now coated in his own blood, before rolling back underneath the bottom rope as the crowd applauds his courage.] CHANEY: "You can see the concern etched on the face of both the referee and Alfie Button, who is walking over to SAGAWA and asking him if he is sur- T H W A P ! ! ! ... OPEN HANDED CHOP TO THE CHEST OF ALFIE BUTTON!" [The strike is accentuated by the fact that a hand print is left behind by the chop on Button's chest, painted in the blood of The Madman from Japan.] WATTERS: "I guess that answers any questions Button had about SAGAWA wanting to continue." CHANEY: "Button now shrugs his shoulders and fires back with a European Uppercut!" WATTERS: "That shot rattled whatever teeth remain in the mouth of The Kochi Cannibal! Another chop from SAGAWA, this time a backhand which is blocked by Button. Exchanging shots will only get you so far!" CHANEY: "Quick knee to the midsection from Button - he hooks the head - DDT!!!!" WATTERS: "NO! SAGAWA planted his hands and pulled off a handspring through the DDT and flipped forward and back to his feet - SAGAWA off the ropes - Button up - WHEEL OF FORTUNE!!!" [The spinning back elbow from Button connects with the teeth of SAGAWA who throws his head back and spits something into the air - Saliva? A loose tooth? Hard to tell. But it does its job of staggering the Japanese born daredevil as he stumbles back into the ropes.] CHANEY: "SAGAWA back off the ropes on rubber band legs - PELE KICK FROM BUTTON! SAGAWA GOES DOWN!" WATTERS: "Whether it was his intention or not, that shot connected with the back of SAGAWA's head and Button goes for the cover ... ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ... Kickout from SAGAWA!" CHANEY: "I don't know whether it was instinct or not, but SAGAWA just saved the match for himself." [The arm extended from the kickout quickly becomes the contact point for Alfie Button, who seizes the wrist as he quickly gets back to a vertical base. Following along to avoid any further damage, SAGAWA soon finds himself on all fours as Button dives over his back and hooks both arms.] CHANEY: "OKLAHOMA ROLL!!! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TW- NO! Kickout again!" WATTERS: "Its almost like Alfie Button is going for a quick pin in an attempt to not do any further damage to SAGAWA." [Following his kickout, SAGAWA rolls to his knees as Alfie Button gets back to a vertical base. With a great use of ring positioning, The Kochi Cannibal sweeps Alfie's legs out from under him, to buy some time to charge the ropes and dive to the apron.] CHANEY: "SAGAWA to the outside now as Alfie starts to get up. Button charges the corner, SAGAWA vaults to the top METEORAAAAAA- BUTTON DUCKS!" WATTERS: "SAGAWA saw the duck coming and rolled through and is back to his feet .. as is Button .. SAGAWA charges in, Alfie sidesteps him and sends him towards the corner. Alfie now in from behind - SAGAWA up and over - LUNGBLOWER!!!" [With momentum on his side from the Evading Lung Blower, SAGAWA pops Button a good five feet in tha air before he comes crashing down to the canvas. Scurrying back to his feet, SAGAWA dives on top of The Londoner just moments having all the wind forced from his body.] CHANEY: "COVER BY SAGAWA!!! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . KICKOUT! I don't know if Button saw that one coming at all!" WATTERS: "It's like they say, it only takes 3 seconds to end a match and in this case 3 seconds to move onto the next round of The Lonestar Title Tournament at Showdown!" [With the assistance of the ropes, SAGAWA gets back up to a vertical base and catches Button with a forearm to the side of the head before he can get any higher than his knees. As Button becomes stunned from the shot, SAGAWA hooks in a gutwrench and lifts Alfie from the mat.] CHANEY: "Gutwrench from SAGAWA who lifts Button into a Canadian Backbreaker!" WATTERS: "Is he looking for a submission?" CHANEY: "I don't know, this one could go anywhere! SAGAWA letting Alfie slide down his back some into The Gory Special and this one can go anywhere. SAGAWA has used this for wins ...he can easily convert it into his Hangman's Choke ... and if he goes deep into his playbook this could be the setup for his Pitagora Sochi Finisher!" [Content with his positioning, back to back with Alfie Button, SAGAWA jumps a few times as he tries to force a submission out of his opponent. The referee moves into position to check on things, but the blood on SAGAWA's hand starts to slacken his grip. The camera picks up SAGAWA struggling to hold his position, but with a bit of exertion Button forces himself from the position and throws his body forward...] CHANEY: "CODE RED SUNSET POWERBOMB!!!! SAGAWA ROLLS THROUGH!!!" WATTERS: "I don't remember the last time I _saw_ this side of SAGAWA who now has the ankles of the Button who is laying on his back. SAGAWA stepping in and over - Could he be going for a Sharpshooter?" CHANEY: "He crosses Button's legs, but Alfie seizes the ankle of SAGAWA to fight it. The Kochi Cannibal tries to turn it to the left ... blocked! He tries to take it to the right ... blocked! Alfie Button is holding his positio- SAGAWA releases the legs - DOUBLE STOMP!!!" WATTERS: "Both feet down square into the chest of Button! SAGAWA for a cover! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . THR- Foot on the ropes!!!" CHANEY: "That one was close. This one was almost over." WATTERS: "Not necessarily. I feel like although Button had the wind knocked out of him, he was just buying time and not trying to exert any excess energy" CHANEY: "Interesting point." [You can tell that the battle is starting to take its effect on both men though, as SAGAWA kneels up after the pin attempt and breathes a little heavily - meanwhile Alfie Button just lays on his back and looks up at the lights as he clutches his forearms to his sternum. Grabbing the top rope, SAGAWA looks at the fallen Alfie Button and starts to back up across the ring slapping his hand off of his knee.] CHANEY: "In what can only be described as a match of counter-wrestling, it looks like SAGAWA is signaling for Busaiku Knee Kick that he has won many a contest with. As a matter of fact, this was part of a combination that lead The Big Game Hunters to multiple tag team championships." WATTERS: "You can feel the buzz about the crowd too as they sense what is coming." CHANEY: "SAGAWA waving for Button to get back to his feet, and he is up to one knee - HERE COMES SAGAWAAAAAAAA!!!!" [As SAGAWA charges in with the knee, Alfie Button proves that he has done some scouting as he sidesteps the charge and slides around behind The Kochi Cannibal as he charges into the corner. Before his chest can connect with the buckle though, SAGAWA raises a foot and pushes backwards as the back of his skull connects boldly with the forehead of Alfie Button.] CHANEY: "REVERSE HEADBUTT! MY GOD!" [There is a definite stutter step from SAGAWA as the wound on the back of his head connects with The Englishman, but he quickly shakes it off and wraps both hands around the top rope. Pulling back he starts to vault himself up towards the top rope, but doesn't take note of Alfie Button who remained on his feet despite the headbutt.] CHANEY: "Button is right there! SAGAWA to the top! Button to the second rope! Button leaps first!!" [Using the second rope to gain momentum, Button starts to take off with a definite upward trajectory before wrapping his legs around the back of SAGAWA's head and reversing direction. His legs scissored at the neck, there is only one way for both men to go. A move that clears the seats of The Phoenix once again.] CHANEY: "SPRINGBOARD CANAL PLUUUUUUSSSSS!!!" WATTERS: "SPRINGBOARD POISON RANA!!!!" [The bodies of both men flip backwards towards the canvas, as the back of SAGAWA's head hits the mat and he quickly rolls to his feet. Back on a vertical base, he throws both arms out to his side and lets loose a primal and guttural scream as Alfie Button turns around to witness the sheer sight of horror. ... just moments before SAGAWA collapses face first to the canvas.] CHANEY: "SAGAWA'S UP! SAGAWA'S DOWN!!!" [Referee Barry Snider's mind goes right where everybody else's did as he saw SAGAWA collapse, and he quickly dives on top of The Aokigahara Angel of Death's body to check on him. Shocked, Button collapses back against the ropes with a cocked head to view things.] WATTERS: "There is a definite balance between guts and brains when it comes to the world of pro wrestling. There are just times that you can push yourself too far and then things catch up with you." CHANEY: "But it looks like we have some motion, as SAGAWA is rolling over onto his hip." WATTERS: "Okay, I know SAGAWA wants to keep going but when is enough enough?" [Back on his hip, SAGAWA plants his hands on the canvas and starts to push himself back to his feet - but has barely regained his footing when he collapses back into a seated position once again causing a gasp from the crowd. Exasperated as he leans against the corner, Alfie Button makes a "cut it" gesture as he pleads with the official to stop the match. But before he can respond, SAGAWA reaches out and grabs his ankle and shakes his head no.] CHANEY: "The referee is caught between a rock and a hard place. He has Alfie Button demanding that he stop the match. Meanwhile SAGAWA is begging for the match-up to continue. Larry, what would you do in that situation?" WATTERS: "I can't make that call. But to play the role of Devil's Advocate, Alfie Button has a vested interest in the official doing the "right thing" and stopping the match-up." CHANEY: "Valid point." [Looking back and forth between both men, Referee Barry Snider contemplates the moral dilemma. From his seated position, SAGAWA balls up both fists and motions Button to bring it - causing the British Superstar to roll his eyes in frustration. Shrugging his shoulders, the referee motions for the match to continue, much to the dismay of Button.] CHANEY: "Button is NOT happy with that call." WATTERS: "Can you blame him? SAGAWA can barely sit up straight and look at his eyes, he is absent from his conversation despite what his body language is saying." CHANEY: "Well the match will continue and here comes Button." [Alfie Button charges out of the corner, clearly frustrated, and leans down towards the back of SAGAWA's neck to gain control. But as he bends over, SAGAWA reaches up with his outside arm and hooks the back of Button's head, while his inside arm hooks the crook of the knee.] CHANEY: "INSIDE CRADLE!!! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . THREE!!! WATTERS: "BUTTON KICKS OUT!" DING! DING! DING! CHANEY: "BUT NOT IN TIME!!!!" [Almost instantaneously a wave of shock sweeps over the Texas crowd as Referee Barry Snider calls for the bell. Their expression almost mirroring the look on the face of Alfie Button as he sits up and glances over SAGAWA with his jaw agape.] BUFFINGTON: "Ladies and Gentlemen .. Your winner of this match advancing in The Lonestar Title Tournament at Showdown is ... S A G A W A ! ! ! [Amazed by what has gone down, Alfie Button starts to push himself back up to his feet - but not before SAGAWA does the unthinkable and executes a perfect kip-up to his feet.] WATTERS: "Did SAGAWA sucker him in? Was SAGAWA playing 'possum?" CHANEY: "Your guess is as good as mine." [Referee Barry Snider steps in and reaches for the wrist of SAGAWA, but Button moves in and places a hand on the chest to back the referee up. Tilting his head to the side, Alfie surveys SAGAWA from head to toe as he grins back at him with a toothless smile and then motions towards Aaron Buffington for the microphone. Going chest to chest. Nose to nose with SAGAWA, Button raises the stick to his lips.] BUTTON: Listen. I didn't come 'ere tonight to lose. So let's make what 'appened right 'ere mean somefing. You take this win and and you 'ead into Showdown and win that Lonestar Title. And when you are at one 'undred percent and 'ave that belt around ya waist, let's do this again. "Congratulations." [And just like he did at the start of the match, Alfie Button extends a hand in a show of great sportsmanship. This time however, there is no hesitation, SAGAWA accepts the handshake and words of encouragement from Button and leans in to give him a hug.] CHANEY: "And there we have it! Alfie Button has just backed his horse in the race, as he moves on the #1 Contender Ladder Match at Showdown - SAGAWA goes one step closer to The Lonestar Championship." WATTERS: "But our night isn't over just yet-" [A loud thud fills the air as SAGAWA takes the microphone from Button during their embrace, and backs up across the ring. Turning towards the camera, the bloodied Kochi Cannibal calls the lens in a bit closer before raising the mic to his mouth. SAGAWA: "A ha ha ha Ha ha ... Psycho Psycho Psycho Johnny One ... Two ... Freddie's coming for YOU! GWAI-LO GONNA DIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" [As he screeches out the final words, "The Sound of Madness" by Shinedown fills The Phoenix once again and SAGAWA turns around to hug Button once more.] [The screen cuts away.]
[As commercials begin to play, this one runs first.] [The screen is black and we hear a very low booming voice come over the black screen.] VOICE OVER: There are millions of ways to find out more about the SCW and it's superstars. But here is the best way... [The screen stays black as we hear a mouse click and then the screen goes to static for a second. Finally when the static leaves, we see the main page of the SCW Web site.] VOICE OVER: The internet. SCW is now on the internet with all sorts of information about your favorite wrestling superstars. There are the current results and fan reactions and the ever popular Title Histories page. [The screen shows a mouse pointer being moved over to the side menu and clicking on the link to show the Forum blog.] VOICE OVER: There is even a blog to interact with your favorite SCW superstar! See what your favorite wrestler has to say away from the ring. [The mouse pointer goes over to the side menu and clicks on the roster link.] VOICE OVER: You can even see the vital statistics on all of your favorite SCW superstars. Where did they come from and why did they begin wrestling? It is all inside the roster section waiting to be explored. [The screen switches to show the mouse clicking on the rumors page link.] VOICE OVER: Go to the rumor section to find out some information that even the SCW leadership may not want the public to see. It is all here right now, and you have to do is point and click. [The screen shows the mouse going back to the home page and the logo from the screen literally jumps from the computer screen to fill the entire screen.] VOICE OVER: Yes SCW has gone cyber with their new web site. So get you hook up here! [The voice trails off and we see the logo stay on the screen as the following URL come just under the logo] http://www.scw.fwrestling.com/ [Fade to black.]
[Suddenly "Sweating For The Gold" plays over the PA and the fans BOO loudly as the duo of the Pirate of Bling and Tony Sweat make their way towards the ring. Both men have smug smiles on their faces as they climb into the ring. Bling gets ahold of a microphone and looks out at the booing fans.] TPOB: Ahoy, me hearties! [BOOS] TPOB: Avast ye and answer me this; Who be the bilge sucking scurvy dogs that were left looking like fools? [He waits for the crowd to answer but only gets boos. Tony, who left a trail of sweat on his way to the ring and is starting a new trail of sweat in the ring, chuckles at the booing fans.] TPOB: Them Masked Bros be the answer! [Bling and Tony laugh heartily while the fans BOO.] TPOB: Let that serve as a lesson to all the scallywags out there, do not stand in the way between us and that precious booty we be pursuing! [Sweat guffaws loudly and pulls the mic away from his tag team partner for a moment.] TS: Always with the ladies on the mind! My man! [Bling looks down at his hands covered in sweat and sighs but he seems resigned to these kind of interactions and just nods his head humoring his friend before getting the mic back. He shakes some of the sweat off then tries not to think about it as he carries on.] TPOB: Our point be proven and now it is time to get back to the reason we are here, GOLD! We want those tag team gold strapped around our waists and we be ready to heave ho and make every tag team suffer the keelhaul just like those Masked Buffoons to get them! [Sweaty Bling seem pleased with themselves .... Masked Bros before Hoes hit the PA system to spoil the system. Bling and Sweat quickly jerk their heads towards the entranceway as the masked duo emerges from the back. Both masked warriors sport their new SCW - Masked Bros t-shirt that can be found at the merchandise stands with their patterned black luchador masks. They quickly make it down to ringside at the objection of their nemeses, Sweaty Bling. The Masked Bros join Sweaty Bling inside the ring and as the cheers begin to die down, Masked Maniac raises a microphone and begins to speak.] MM: It seems like you guys think things are over between us. [Bling and Sweat look at each other with bemused expressions then chuckle and nod their heads while laughing.] MM: After the last Rampage, I had to bury a close and personal friend of mine. [For a moment Sweaty Bling seems human offering their condolences.] MM: Masked Towel-bro. [Those condolences turn into laughs. Masked Wingman takes a step forward, but Maniac stops his wingman.] MM: Just a second big man. Your unforgiving destruction of our lost comrade will be avenged. So before you start having grand illusions of title matches and gold. _WE_ have some unfinished business to settle and there is no better time than the present! [The fans roar in approval as the Masked Wingman raise his fist ready to charge. However, before Wingman charges his mentor stops him.] MM: However, Masked Towel-bro wouldn't want it to go down like this. [... The fans, Masked Wingman, even Sweaty Bling is now confused.] MM: At SHOWDOWN .... SCW's first BIG PPV. What do you say - MASKED BROS versus Sweaty Bling? A tag team war to finally settle the score. In honor of Masked Towel-bro. [The fans are loving the challenge. The Masked men nod encouraging Sweaty Bling to accept. Bling raises an eyebrow but then a smile grows on his face. He motions Tony over and the two begin to whisper. Tony is taken aback for a moment but Bling motions him back in and continues to explain in whispers. Slowly Sweat begins to nod his head more confidently and a cocky smile grows across his face just like the canvas grows damp and wet from his profuse perspiration. Bling pulls away, big smile on his face, then pulls out a Tony Sweat towel and dries himself off before replying.] TPOB: Batten down the hatches, we accept! [BIG POP] TPOB: On one condition.. [BOOS] TPOB: Ye sons of biscuit eaters been trying to hornswaggle us with your skirt chasing competitions and towel matches.. Well why not prove yourself in a REAL MAN'S kind of match! A match that only REAL MEN can do battle in and claim to be worthy victors from. [The buzz grows in the crowd at the anticipation of what is being talked up here.] TPOB: I be speaking of one thing and one thing only, you scallywags.. If you have the GUTS then ye'd accept this with no hesitation but ye lot probably won't have the guts for such a thing.. [The Pirate walks right up into Masked Maniac's face.] TPOB: I BE TALKING A WALK THE PLANK MATCH! [The Masked Wingman's eyes grow wide. He is waving the idea off, but before it even notices his mentor shouts into the microphone.] MM: WE ACCEPT! [The fans roar in the excitement that there will be a match ... even though nobody has really grasped the fact that it's a Walk the Plank match but Sweaty Bling ... and well Masked Wingman who does not look happy.] TPOB: YO HO HO! Well then.. See ye scurvy dogs at the pay per view! [The Pirate of Bling & Tony Sweat climb out of the ring and walk away. The Masked Wingman is still trying to get the attention of his mentor, but the Masked Maniac seems pleased that his "plan" worked.]
[The scene opens to a corridor outside a locker room. The camera moves forward and we pass through the doorway where Johnny Psychotic can be seen seated on a bench at the far end of it. He appears not to have seen the camera crew enter. He has a cell phone in his hand and has just dialled the number and raises the phone to his ear. After a moment he speaks.] PSYCHOTIC: Hey Nixon. How are you feeling? [He listens for a moment.] PSYCHOTIC: Glad you're starting to feel better man but you need to listen to what the doctors tell you. If they want you to rest then it's for a good reason. [He listens again for a little longer this time.] PSYCHOTIC: So glad you enjoyed the match last week. It was kinda weird not having you here though. I knew I needed to get myself into a zone because that guy I faced on the last show is one crazy bastard! [He listens and chuckles to himself.] PSYCHOTIC: Man I love the fact that you're all banged up and you're still coming out with that. You know that's probably why he went after you in the first place, right? [More listening.] PSYCHOTIC: Yeah, I guess we can forget being invited over for Thanksgiving. So - ant words of wisdom for me for the match tonight? [Yet again Psychotic listens.] PSYCHOTIC: Yeah, I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself for being in my second main event in a row. I know I'm not taking Caleb Foley lightly. I've seen what he's capable of doing, both here and in other promotions. Coming back to SCW though - he hasn't got to where he is by accident and I respect the hell out of him for that. Doesn't mean that I'm not going to beat the snot out of him though. [Guess what happens here? Yep - he listens.] PSYCHOTIC: I wish you were here too my friend. However this match ends up determines how I'm going into the iPPV. I'm either going to be down to the final four of the Lonestar Heavyweight championship tournament. Or I'm going to be in a ladder match to see who is going to be the #1 contender. After all is said and done at the Showdown iPPV and the dust has settled and the smoke has cleared I'm going to the champion or the first person in line to take it from the new champion. Now I don't want to cut you off but I'm supposed to be being interviewed about tonight's match - so I gotta go. [Brief pause.] PSYCHOTIC: Speak soon dude. [He hangs up the phone and looks up - spotting the crew for the first time. PSYCHOTIC: What the hell? How long have you guys been there? Are you the guys that are supposed to be finding out what sort of mood I'm in before tonight? VOICE: It's cool man. We got what we needed. Good luck tonight. [The scene fades out as Psychotic looks bewildered.]
[We return to the ringside announce team.] CHANEY: What a victory by Sagawa! WATTERS: I cannot get over how that man even is still alive, let alone defeating guys like Button. CHANEY: And the man who beat him last Rampage sounds like he is ready for the main event later WATTERS: He certainly does. Foley better be on the lookout as Psychotic is a very different guy without Tiberius Nixon at his side! CHANEY: Fans, it is time for the last tag team match on our lineup for the night as American Revival battle hometown heroes, The Rich Family! WATTERS: This is a great match because the winner becomes a top contender for the tag titles by default! CHANEY: The Rich Family are popular here, as you all know, but it is the fact that you don't know which two of the four will be in the ring that makes them truly dangerous. WATTERS: That unknown is tough to prepare for, but most people know to succeed you have to be ready for anything. Prince and Paris are those kinds of guys. CHANEY: I would have to agree. They are among the most dangerous teams today. WATTERS: They really are. So the Riches better pick right tonight ot find themselves further down the trough! CHANEY: Let's see what happens as we send it to the ring!
Introducing first, from Dallas, Texas, here are... T H E R I C H F A M I L Y ! ! ! ["God Blessed Texas" by Little Texas begisn to play and the crowd literally goes ballistic for their hometown heroes. All four members of the family walk out and the crowd goes nuts for theri hometown heroes. As they walk down the aisle, perhaps a tad too close to the crowd as young ladies begin grabbing at them. They reach the ring and hold their arms out wide to welcome the cheers of the crowd.] CHANEY: The Rich Family cause a stir everywhere they go! WATTERS: Especially in the horse barn, from what I understand! CHANEY: Larry that is disgusting to even suggest! WATTERS: Somebody call PETA because I'm betting the Rich Family have some interesting practices for animals on their land! CHANEY: At least confine your comments to what will happen in the SCW wrestling ring. WATTERS: Let's just say I'm glad there isn't a small farm animal in the ring right now. [Aaron Buffington goes to continue the introductions.] BUFFINGTON: And his opponents, coming in at a combined weight of four hundred, twenty- seven pounds. Here are Colby Price and Ryan Paris, the.... A M E R I C A N R E V I V A L ! ! ! [A heavy metal style riff of music begins to play as the newest SCW tag team steps out from behind the curtain. Colby has a classic wrestler build, very athletic build and wears black pants with white lettering on it. Paris has short, dark hair and an athletic build. He wears matching black pants to Prince with white lettering. They step into the ring and stare down the entire Rich Family as we still do not know which two will be in this match, disrespecting them with their glare as they await the start of the match.] CHANEY: Prince and Paris are in the ring and this is a big match for both teams. WATTERS: This really could be considered another old-fashioned elimination match in this stacked tag team division. One of these teams shoudl be a contender for the gold really soon. CHANEY: And a victory here would probably get them there faster. WATTERS: No doubt. This match is as big as it gets in tag team wrestling! [Freddie and Donny Rich are on the outside, suggesting Todd and Declan have been chosen to represent the family tonight. American Revival, who don't have the luxury of rotating their unit, have set their stall out early with Colby Prince picked and primed to kick things off while Declan and Todd discuss a few things. In the end, Declan persuades his cousin to step out and it'll be the middle child, otherwise known as 'The Diamond' that will start for TRF with an opportunity to impress Freddie and father, Frank, watching at home.] WATTERS: Talk about taking your time. I know they say everything's big in Texas, I didn't realize everything was slow too. [Colby storms over towards the opposition corner with a running elbow smash, but Declan side steps him and sends Prince crashing into TRF's top turnbuckle.] CHANEY: Not THAT slow, Larry. WATTERS: Shut up, Chaney. [Declan swivels Prince around and lets him have it with two knife-edge chops that lights up Colby's chest and this partisan crowd in the process.] CHANEY: Big hip toss out of the corner, well done by Declan Rich. [Prince backs off, Declan encroaching forward...] WATTERS: Lulled in by that drop toehold. Smartly done by Colby Prince. CHANEY: What has Prince got in mind next? Turns Declan over...wow. WATTERS: Ouch, that looks painful! CHANEY: Over the shoulder Boston Crab here in Dallas, Texas and it sure does, Larry. [Todd tries to enter the fray and save his cousin, but the official wisely stops him...] WATTERS: Hey, get him out of there! Good officiating. CHANEY: What about this? Now, Paris comes in and kicks away at Declan's back while the Rich Family member is stuck in the over the shoulder Boston Crab, which is bad enough on its own. WATTERS: Turnabout and all that. CHANEY: Really? WATTERS: Really. [Freddie is livid on the outside, but it's to no avail as the referee turns around just as Ryan Paris has departed the crime scene and you can't call what you can't see. Meanwhile, Colby Prince, crab STILL applied, drags Declan and legally tags Paris, who enters with a kick to the spine in full view of the referee this time, perfectly acceptable but utterly infuriating to Freddie and Donny on the outside and the thousands of Texans gathered who air their frustrations in the form of relentless booing. Prince releases and takes his place on the apron.] WATTERS: Great teamwork by American Revival. CHANEY: You've got selective eyesight. WATTERS: Only when I want to. CHANEY: Outstanding overhead German suplex. You have to admire that, regardless of feelings towards American Revival. Paris now rolls Declan onto his front and approaches the second rope. What does he have in mind? Double foot stomp to the back! WATTERS: They're doing a number on young Declan and his spine, all right. [1...2...Only two, though Paris keeps Declan down with a dragon sleeper.] WATTERS: They're keeping Declan guessing between the neck and back. CHANEY: Sound strategy by American Revival, who've dominated the early going, but look at Freddie and Donny trying to get their native Texans on board, to help Declan get back into this and it seems to be working: One kick, make that two and a third, all with his free leg, which gets the Rich Family member out of the dragon sleeper situation. [But, as Declan is rising, Paris puts him back down with a backbreaker and makes him kick out of another pinfall attempt, somewhere around 1.5-2.] WATTERS: Colby Paris knew fine well Declan was not going to lie down to that, but the amount of effort it exerts slowly, but surely, is what may be the end of Declan and The Rich Family tonight. [A kick to Declan's left paves the way for a smoothly-executed DDT that gives Rich a rough landing. 1...2..] CHANEY: Getting closer. American Revival making great inroads as an anxious Freddie and Donny sit it out on the sidelines and I wonder if Freddie regrets their team selection. WATTERS: Probably. [A whip to the buckle, spine-first no less, reminds Declan of the damage done to his spine. It deposited Declan into American Revival's corner, Paris makes way for Prince, who becomes the legal man.] CHANEY: American Revival have made a series of tags and isolated Declan immediately. He's not been able to get going at all and cousin Todd has had no bearing on this all-important bout at all. WATTERS: Teamwork makes the dream work. [Paris whips Declan to the other buckle, again the small of the back bearing the brunt, forcing Declan to go up and over the buckle to the apron where Ryan has made up an impressive distance in a short space of time to fire a parting shot.] CHANEY: Crescent Kick and what quickness by Ryan Paris! WATTERS: Air France should be his new nickname after that. CHANEY: Indeed. [As Staggs' count begins, Paris takes a timeout to taunt The Rich Family. Todd and Freddie keep their emotions in check, but the baby of the family, Donny mouths off and is promptly told to calm down by 'Big Brother' Freddie.] WATTERS: They're in such control, they're potentially welcoming a handicap match and don't care because American Revival could probably take all four of these chumps right now. [As the count approaches six, a nifty baseball slide to stop Declan returning to the squared circle. Ryan returns to the Rich half of the ring, resuming his taunting, keen to get Todd in particular to bite, but it's only Donny, who rises to the bait. Freddie holds him back in a ridiculous scene reminiscent of Scooby Doo stopping an overzealous Scrappy from biting off more than he can chew.] WATTERS: Donny should listen to Freddie. He's useless compared to Declan, and you can see how badly he's faring, so imagine what American Revival would do to Donny? There'd be no reviving him! [The count is quashed again, this time slightly higher at seven, and Paris allows Declan to get up onto the apron, though with a catch: A clear suplex attempt inside is part of the small print, though a headbutt to the sternum serves as a loophole to that particular stipulation.] CHANEY: Declan slides in. WATTERS: Clever considering the circumstances. CHANEY: Roll-up ...may have him here. Kickout at two by Ryan. WATTERS: The pace of Paris is telling again as he's up first... CHANEY: SEATED CRESCENT KICK on Declan and that could be it, as he hooks the leg! One...two...no! Paris heads home to tag Prince back in. [Colby scrapes a despondent Declan up off the mat, when Declan attempts a kick in vain, Colby anticipating it.] CHANEY: Enzuigiri by Declan! Is that the breakthrough he and The Rich Family have been seeking? The crowd in Dallas is certainly behind their own. [Declan is nursing his back. However, he manages to get up just a couple of paces behind Prince. Colby's initial right is blocked by Declan, who fires back twice and looks to capitalize with an Irish whip.] CHANEY: Double knee backbreaker! Is that it? [1...2...nearest fall yet.] WATTERS: Elementary mistake, Declan. A lack of experience could have cost him dearly there and American Revival is back in the driver's seat. Prince and Paris have alternated between the neck and back brilliantly. [Prince is going up for a Shooting star press to the back, Declan, perhaps courtesy of a shout from a TRF member, scurries to safety in a last gasp escape effort, which works.] CHANEY: Someone, I think it was Freddie, who's been quiet for the majority of this match, gave Declan a warning of what was incoming. WATTERS: It was. He's a leader, Eric, but he's been too quiet and I feel there's something wrong in the Rich camp. Freddie's not happy, maybe he was sidelined by his father Frank, who knows, but I question the choice of the biggest, strongest, most experienced and most capable member of this unit not being in the heat of battle in what could be a critical match for the family's future in SCW. [Declan, despite a late attempt by Prince to keep American Revival's prey in play, tags in Todd, much to the delight of the fans in The Phoenix.] CHANEY: Welcome to Texas, DDT by Todd Rich! [Just as Paris is poised to enter the battleground again, Todd rushes over there and issues a snap DDT from the second rope, a la Orton.] CHANEY: And another! Todd kicks Paris out of the ring and man, is he fired up, along with these fans. [Prince tries to take Todd by surprise, but a backbody drop sends Prince onto Paris on the outside, extracting a phenomenal cheer from the SCW faithful.] CHANEY: Todd's not done yet. [The senior Rich in this showdown, which is also the name of our supercard so join us then in December, it'll be quite a Christmas present. Anyway, where was I? Oh, over to you, Eric.] CHANEY: Suicide Dive on American Revival marks The Rich Family revival! [Todd rolls the legal man, Prince back in, though just as he's about to return to the ring himself, Paris nails Todd with a chop block, which the referee clocks. The Rich Family, and our spectators, are livid and again, Donny wants to confront AR and is stopped by Freddie from doing so.] CHANEY: Prince puts the cloverleaf... [...Until Declan unapologetically shows up and DECKS, pun absolutely intended, Colby with a morally-low rabbit punch and then, out of nowhere, tells the official to do one in no uncertain terms! Roars emerge from all corners of the SCW Arena.] WATTERS: Come on! CHANEY: Turnabout and all that. [Meanwhile, Todd picks Prince up and another Irish whip sees Colby rebound gratefully into Todd's path, who scores with a pop up kick to the midsection! 1...2 - just two.] CHANEY: One of Todd's most impressive moves and if it had come a little later, it would have definitely been a closer call than that. WATTERS: If your aunt had a you-know-what, she'd be your uncle. [Todd waits for Prince, which is the worst thing, as he had time to contemplate his next move and of all the things, he uses a high knee! Sure, it connects, but the sight of him clutching his leg on the ground.) WATTERS: That might be the silliest thing I've seen all night and I've been sitting next to you since the show started. CHANEY: Thank you. WATTERS: You're wel...no, you're not. [Colby recovers a couple of seconds before Todd, which is crucial as he's able to do what 15 million tourists do every year and reach Paris. Tag. Ryan enters with a bang and a pop, leaving an ass imprint on Todd's affected left wheel with a seated senton and he's not content with his lot either.] CHANEY: A single leg Boston crab on this occasion, which should work better on Todd, given the work American Revival has done on his leg. Todd rejects any notion of surrendering. WATTERS: For now. [Todd is almost at the southern set of ropes, only for Paris to yank the rug from underneath Todd and drag him back into the center of the squared circle.] CHANEY: Declan and Colby are dying to get in there and affect the outcome in their respective favors, but referee, Shane Staggs, looks to have it under control. [Only he doesn't. As Colby feigns entering, a desperate attempt to drag Declan in, he incurs unwanted attention from the official, who reprimands him. In the meantime, like a burglar in the night, Declan DOES interfere and plant Paris with an inverted suplex slam, which drives Prince nuts and the crowd wild.] WATTERS: I suppose that's okay? CHANEY: Turn... WATTERS: Don't even say it. [Meanwhile, a double down ensues as Snider approaches Declan, whose innocent hands-up ploy is persuasive enough and lets TRF away it.] WATTERS: You know what, their experience in foul play came to the fore there and I keep saying do whatever it takes to win, they are and it's a BIG bout for both teams. CHANEY: A moment of fairness from you, Larry? WATTERS: I'm always fair, Eric. [Paris slithers towards Prince and tags him in. There's also a race on the other side. Prince, now in, grabs Todd's leg, but cousin Rich shoves Colby off with the sole of his boot and Declan is back in with a point to prove.] CHANEY: Declan is climbing to the top turnbuckle...Diving clothesline! That's a way to make a statement. [Declan is keen to get to work and brings Prince up and down with a BRAINBUSTAAH! However, he hurt his back in the process.] WATTERS: One minute, these Rich kids are intelligent and then, the next, they're just dumb. [Eventually, Declan gets over there, Scorpion style, but Paris comes in to stop the count, and Todd comes in at the same time. Sadly, Staggs loses control, focusing on Todd as Paris pulls Declan away from Prince's heavily-breathing body until...] CHANEY: LOW BLOW by Donny. WATTERS: Where did he come from? The Rich Family, I don't know what to make of them, but they can sure cheat. [Donny rolls back out of the ring as a crotch-clutching Ryan Paris also scurries back to where he came from and the referee rejoins the fray just as Declan picks Price up. Colby counters with a small package - 1...2...2 and a half.] CHANEY: That was close. WATTERS: It was, but look at this... [A kick has foreshadowed a dangerous situation for Declan...] CHANEY: END OF TIMES!!! [The double underhook brainbuster is surely it until Todd comes in and stops the count on the stroke of two. Donny gets up on the apron, but is promptly confronted by Paris, who gets revenge with a major right hand just inches away, sending Donny to the arena floor with some force. Freddie goes to see his youngest brother. Amongst all of this, the designated AR member, Price seizes the opportunity to deck Todd with a superkick! The Rich Family is in disarray.] WATTERS: American Revival have proven two heads can be better than four if the four guys in question are from Texas. CHANEY: Larry! [Staggs, an inconsistent official, has barely had control in this contest and has to live with the consequences of that. Not that TRF have been perfect. Meanwhile...] CHANEY: REVIVAL POWERBOMB!!! (The devastating powerbomb/double knee backbreaker combination, which targets BOTH parts they have worked over pertaining to Declan, leaves the youngster motionless. Prince makes the cover while Ryan Paris stares at Freddie, daring the Rich Family leader to make a move in the absence of Todd and Donny too. 1...2...3!!!] CHANEY: An excellent win for American Revival. WATTERS: Two v four? And the four in question cheated, not to mention the hometown support? I say. Excellent is an understatement and you're downplaying it because you're biased towards the Riches, but they were outthought, outfought, outmanned and outdone. There is an American Revival and Paris and Prince, along with Las Preguntas, Border Control and Sweaty Bling, are going to make tag team division wrestling again! CHANEY: Watch you don't get impeached. [The screen cuts away.]
[The screen cuts and we hear a voice before we see a face.] VOICE: Por fin! [El Principe has a microphone in hand, so go and make yourself a cup of coffee if you don't speak Spanish because this is a glorified commercial and he doesn't give two hoots whether YOU understand him or not. Me entiendes?] PRINCIPE: Han recibido el mensaje de no enviarme un entrevistador inutil que no hable espanol y en su lugar solo tengo que tolerar a un camarografo igualmente inutil. [The luchador shakes his head before embarking on another bout of moaning.] PRINCIPE: He tenido mala suerte en el torneo, pero no me preocupo, he tenido mucha presion y dificultades en mi vida. [Those who speak Spanish laughed HARD at the irony of that last statement.] PRINCIPE: GANARE un título aquí. Lo prometo. El príncipe no esta muerto. Viva el príncipe! [He walks off as the screen cuts away.]
[The screen opens up to no interviewer around or microphone for that matter as Keegan paces the floor in the locker room, clearly riled and no one in sight, fortunately for them.] KEEGAN: You know what it is? I've never liked a person who takes a shortcut and that's precisely why I can't stand El Gringo Loco. Hank told me that he's a snake, can't be trusted and I've always known it too. It doesn't take the Brain of Britain to figure that out. [Special K lets a sigh out and nods to himself.] KEEGAN: I take the blame for allowing Davey to go in there alone with the tag team champions. It stands to reason that the best team should beat ANY individual, including our first Lonestar champion. Davey wanted it, and I've got an awful lot of faith in the lad, so I went along with it and it was the wrong thing to do. I hold my hands up. [And Keegan does just that before looking down the barrel.] KEEGAN: And, now I take responsibility once again. EGL, I don't know what your game is just yet, but you're always up to something, even when you're asleep, and I'll get to the bottom of it eventually. In the meantime, Davey will be okay for Showdown to take on Las Preguntas and this time it'll be different - I'll be there. [Special K smirks.] KEEGAN: Not on the outside. Beside him. In the ring, two v two, Duda and Marca v Davey and me for the tag team titles. Before you weasel out of it, I've sorted it out with my mate and it's all legit. There'll be no court cases, broken fingernails, ingrown toenails or skullduggery for you to get out of, you old goat. Duda, Marca - mark my words. There's NO doubt about the outcome at Showdown. The Scottish terrier and the old warhorse are the salt of the earth and ready for a scrap. So, bring everything you've got because you'll need it and we're not leaving until someone gets their head kicked in. Howay the Lads! [Fade to black.]
[The screen returns to the broadcast team at the ringside announce table.] CHANEY: Welcome back! It's time to see how it will wind down as it is time for the main event of the evening! WATTERS: Foley and Psychotic! Let's get it on! CHANEY: You seem excited for this one. WATTERS: Let's just say that I hope "The Human Heart Attack" does his worst to the celtic freak. CHANEY: How nice. WATTERS: It's a living. CHANEY: Alrighty, let's head to our ring announcer Aaron "The Buff" Buffington and get the final quarterfinal off and rolling. Take it away for the main event Buff!
[As the camera switches to the ring, the following graphics fills the screen.]
[The graphic leaves and we see SCW Ring Announcer Aaron Buffington in the ring ready to go.] BUFFINGTON: Ladies and Gentlemen, this match is the final Lonestar Title Tournament Quarterfinal Match and is set for one fall and has a fifteen-minute time limit! Introducing first, from Long Island, New York and weighing in at two hundred-sixty-three pounds.... "T H E H U M A N H E A R T A T T A C K" J O H N N Y P S Y C H O T I C ! ! ! ["Take Me To The Hospital" by The Prodigy erupts over the PA as Johnny Psychotic steps out onto the entrance ramp and is alone for the second match in a row. Johnny wears a black one piece singlet in black and has a heart on the front of the singlet and the boots and "Human Heart Attack" on the butt... His shoulder length black hair is hanging loose.] CHANEY: Johnny Psychotic shocked teh world last Rampage with his violent tendencies. WATTERS: I truly think that we saw a contender emerge that nobody saw coming. This guy is a beast waiting to be unleashed! [He strides down to the ring and Johnny slides under the bottom rope, clambers to his feet and climbs to the nearest middle turnbuckle, holding his arms out and soakin gin the boos of the crowd. Psychotic drops back down into the ring and motions toward the entrance aisle for his opponent to come out already.] CHANEY: Psychotic without the influence of Nixon may just literally be a killer in there, Larry. WATTERS: I hate admitting when you are right, but He is truly becomign dangerous in there. CHANEY: Can Caleb Foley stand that level of violence. WATTERS: He has before, but I don't know if he can stay at THIS level for long. [Aaron Buffington goes to continue the introductions.] BUFFINGTON: And his opponent... ["Loyal to No-One" by The Dropkick Murphy's plays over the PA as the arena goes completely silent.] #I first meet this man at the Cammen street Tracks # #In no shape for success headed nowhere to fast# #He may have been someone once by the sound of his call # #Now he answers to no one# #NO-ONE AT ALL!# [A hooded man stands at the entrance just bouncing to the beat of the music. His head is down so his face is completely covered. The man lifts up his head to reveal that it is none other Caleb Foley and the crowd has absolutely exploded now with cheers.] #We all die alone, he shouted as he passed# #With no sense of regret, see he never looked back# #Though his pride was wounded, his ego was strong# #Yea that was his Trouble and this is his Song# #You said we die alone, in this case you were right# #No friends by your side or family in sight# #There'll be no talking your way out this time# #So don't count the cash cause you leave it behind# BUFFINGTON: Hailing from Dublin, Ireland and weighing in at two hundred-fifteen pounds. Here is... "T H E C E L T I C C R I P P L E R" C A L E B F O L E Y ! ! ! [Caleb pulls the hood off his head and reveals a new hairstyle his reddish hair completely slicked back and a full red beard with a black goatee. Caleb begins to walk down the entrance when he stops, he bends down and pounds his knuckles to the ground and his points up to the sky as a tribute to his deceased father. Foley continues to walk down to the ring as the fans are chanting his name but seems not to really be interacting with them as much as his once did. Foley is looking in the ring and he seems to mean business. Foley slides underneath the bottom rope and begins to stretch against the ropes.] CHANEY: Caleb Foley has a desire for gold and it shows in all that he does. WATTERS: He can show all he wants, but until he finishes and actually raises some over his head, he will always have the word "potential" attached to his name. CHANEY: Is that fair, Larry? WATTERS: Yes. In my expert, wrestling-legend, former champion, been there/done that opinion....YES it is! [DING! DING!! DING!!!] CHANEY: There's the bell! WATTERS: The Main Event is on for the last semifinal spot! [As the bell sounds, Foley and Psychotic are circling, looking for that opening to strike.] CHANEY: Feeling out process early on. WATTERS: Usually is, but it may be Foley is just trying to see which Johnny Psychotic is here tonight. CHANEY: That could be true too. WATTERS: Hey after what happened with Sagawa last Rampage, I'd have second thoughts about facing him. [Finally, Psychotic and Foley lunge toward each other, but Caleb dodges the big arms of Psychotic and slides his knee into the stomach of the bigger man.] CHANEY: Foley with a veteran move there! WATTERS: Both of these men are veterans of the ring. [Foley begins clubbing away at the neck and shoulder area of Psychotic. The blows are coming fast and furious.] CHANEY: FOLEY GOING NUTS ON PSYCHOTIC EARLY ON! WATTERS: He may be throwing a lot, but Johnny has a chin, this isn't ending anything! [Psychotic shoves Foley away and stands up straight, a crazed look in the eyes of the former tag team specialist. The crowd is eating this intensity up!] CHANEY: WHOA! Psychotic looks PISSED!!! WATTERS: Yeah, that exchange may have woken up the guy that we saw last Rampage. CHANEY: So you think Foley is in trouble. WATTERS: He should run now and run fast. [Foley quickly over to land a hard right hand to Psychotic's jaw, but the monster shrugs it off like a mosquito bite. They are only an inch different in height, but the fifty pounds more Psychotic has makes him look huge by comparison.] CHANEY: Foley's big punch seemed to have zero effect, Larry! WATTERS: Johnny is in a different zone now. I'm not sure he feels anything! [Foley goes for another hard right, but Psychotic blocks the punch and lands a right hand of his own, stunning Foley.] CHANEY: PSYCHOTIC BLOCKS AND RETURNS FIRE!!! WATTERS: Foley ate that one! I think he's a little wobbly! CHANEY: Caleb better snap back to reality quickly! WATTERS: He could end up the "Cippled Celtic!" (laughs) [Psychotic hits another punch and then a roundhouse right to the jaw that sends Foley flying into the air and over the top rope. Psychotic looks ecstatic with the battle so far with the wild look in his eyes.] CHANEY: FOLEY IS KNOCKED CLEAN OVER THE TOP ROPE!!! WATTERS: Johnny Psychotic showing the power he truly has! CHANEY: Foley is always fighting from behind in every match. WATTERS: I could go so many places with that, Chaney. He's definitely a slow starter at times and against someone like Psychotic, you cannot afford to do that. [Foley is rubbing his jaw, standing in the ringside area next to some very rowdy fans cheering at him to get back in there. Caleb nods to the fans and even fist bumps one of the kids at ringside and the crowd erupts.] CHANEY: Foley just gave that kid a moment he will never forget! WATTERS: He ought to be worrying about creating his own championship moment. Forget those little sheep out there. CHANEY: Have you always been this way, Larry? WATTERS: What way? You mean driven to win at all costs? Then, yes. [Foley starts to climb up to the apron and Psychotic is there to greet him. The bigger man grabs Caleb, but Foley counters by dropping back to the arena floor and pulling Psychotic's neck right over the top rope, snapping him down hard.] CHANEY: FOLEY SNAPS PSYCHOTIC OVER THE TOP ROPE!!! WATTERS: Always a smart counter when someone tries to take advantage of an entering opponent. Caleb might not have the brute strength to go against Johnny, but he has the smarts. CHANEY: Did you just complement Foley? WATTERS: Just pointed out the truth. He's a do-gooding moron, but he can hold his own in the ring. [Foley slides into the ring, wasting no time, and puts a boot squarely into the shoulder blades of Psychotic. He then grabs the right leg and yanks it back into a single-leg Boston Crab hold.] CHANEY: Foley has the upper hand now with that single crab hold! WATTERS: The Irishman is certainly working the leg the way you should and I cannot believe Johnny Psychotic allowed him to gain control like that. CHANEY: I don't think he allowed it, Larry. Caleb Foley just took advantage of the situation as only a veteran can! WATTERS: He had to have cheated somewhere, and I'm sure that is what Barry Snider is looking at. [The Head Referee is asking Psychotic if he gives up and Psychotic simply replies with a phrase that isn't fit for consumption, tellgin the referee "F--- off!" He fights the hold, but Foley has great leverage and is yanking that leg hard.] CHANEY: Caleb Foley wrenching back as far as he can to cause problems for Psychotic's leg! The fans are really behind him. WATTERS: That's nice and all, but it means nothing. Johnny is tough as nails. This hold won't end him in this match. CHANEY: Never say never, Larry. WATTERS: I'll say what I want. This is my show, you know. [Psychotic can't reach the ropes, and he is having trouble attempting to force a side-to- side motion to break the hold. Finally, out of sheer desperation, Psychotic kicks his left leg back and his foot smacks Foley right in the eye, forcing the break of the hold.] CHANEY: PSYCHOTIC ESCAPED!!! What a shocking kick right there. WATTERS: Had Foley had the true Boston Crab, then that leg isn't free to break the hold. Once again, Caleb Foley holds true to form! CHANEY: What does that mean? WATTERS: Looking good, but never able to follow through and finish. Losing that hold will cost him later. Just watch. [Psychotic and Foley are both on the canvas, but Psychotic is pulling himself to his feet. He finally gets up and begins looking at the right knee as he quickly looks toward Foley.] CHANEY: Johnny Psychotic back to his feet as he seems to be favoring that knee. WATTERS: Favoring a knee isn't like losin ga match over it though. [Foley is rubbing his eye as he stands to his feet. He turns around and is immediately dropped by a thundering lariat from Psychotic.] CHANEY: Johnny not allowing Caleb to get his eyes cleared before he DROPS HIM WITH A MASSIVE LARIAT!!! WOW! WATTERS: Johnny starting to show that killer instinct! [Psychotic pulls Foley up and whips him across the ring into the ropes.] CHANEY: Psychotic sending Foley on the ride.... [Psychotic catches Foley with a black hole slam that shakes the ring violently.] WATTERS: Big time slam by Psychotic and he hooks the leg for a cover! This is it! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TTTHHHHHHRRRRR..........KICKOUT!!! CHANEY: CALEB SURVIVED!!! WATTERS: Barely! The Irish punk managed to avoid the pin, but Johnny's strength is beating guys down and out. CHANEY: Well Caleb isn't to that point yet, Larry! WATTERS: Yet, Chaney. Yet is the operative word there. [Psychotic nods as he gingerly gets to his feet. He reaches down to pull Foley to his feet and grabs him by the throat. He moved the other arm out of the way and lifts Foley into the air, throwing him in a choke slam against the turnbuckles.] CHANEY: PSYCHOTIC GOING MIDEVIL ON CALEB FOLEY!!! WATTERS: Those turnbuckles aren't supposed usually used for that purpose, but Johnny certainly finds different ways of hurting people and soem of them are damn creative! CHANEY: He hit so awkwardly! WATTERS: It was beautiful! [Foley is on the mat, one hand holding his throat and the other feeling the back of his head after the impact. Psychotic is just stalking him now.] CHANEY: Caleb Foley is getting torn to pieces now! WATTERS: He is learning why they call Johnny "The Human Heart Attack!" CHANEY: Foley is simply a mouse to Johnny Psychotic's cat right now. I'm not sure he fully knows what is going on. WATTERS: Psychotic may end this soon [Psychotic pulls Foley to his feet and whips him into the ropes again. This time, Foley drops down and baseball slides between Psychotic's legs, punching at the right knee as he goes through.] CHANEY: NOOO!!! FOLEY AVOIDS THE ATTACK AND GOES AFTER THE LEGS!!! WATTERS: Foley has always been a low-blow artist. This doesn't surprise me at all. [Psychotic is down on one knee and Foley quickly up to his feet. He runs at Psychotic and hits a Shining Wizard that sends the big man to the canvas.] CHANEY: SHINING WIZARD DROPS PSYCHOTIC TO THE CANVAS! Foley hooks a leg! WATTERS: NOOOOOOO!!! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TTTHHHHHHRRRRR..........KICKOUT!!! CHANEY: PSYCHOTIC GETS A SHOULDER UP! WATTERS: Once again, Foley cannot finish! CHANEY: And he is looking very upset about that, Larry! WATTERS: After awhile, you have to realize that the book on you is the book for a reason! [Foley is obviously disappointed, but back to his feet waiting for Psychotic to begin stirring.] CHANEY: Foley is waiting for the bigger man to get to his feet. WATTERS: He may regret this. Kick 'em while they're down is what I always say! CHANEY: The crowd is behind the Celtic Crippler and you can hear them getting excited about this one potentially ending! WATTERS: Sounds like premature celebration to me. [Psychotic gets up to his knees and starts to stand, Foley over quickly, grabbing him by the neck and nailing a textbook neck breaker.] CHANEY: FOLEY WITH A NECKBREAKER AND DOWN GOES JOHNNY AGAIN!!! WATTERS: It is almost like he has a set idea of what he wants to do. CHANEY: How is that a negative thing, Larry? WATTERS: What if, because he wanted that neckbreaker so damn bad, he waited and got clobbered? That is what I mean you twit. [Foley grabs Psychotic's right leg and lifts it up, then slams the knee into the mat with as much force as he can. Psychotic rolls over and grabs the leg in obvious difficulty.] CHANEY: Caleb Foley is once again going after that leg and if he can take that wheel away, thi match gets a ton easier. WATTERS: Thank you Captain Obvious! Foley is using strategy, but let's remember that Johnny is not some easy mark. CHANEY: Well Foley is proving to be an expert marksman then because he is in full control! WATTERS: I still say he is cheating somehow! He has to be! [Foley uses the roll against him as it put him close to the edge of the ring. Foley slides out of the ring and throws a strong jack to Psychotic's nose. As Psychotic reacts to the jab, Foley grabs the right leg again and pulls it under the ropes.] CHANEY: FOLEY GOING AFTER THAT LEG AGAIN! WATTERS: This time he is doing it ILLEGALLY!!! He is taking it under the ropes! CHANEY: Caleb diggign into the back of tricks! WATTERS: Also known as trying to hurt somebody at all costs! [Foley yanks Psychotic's leg to the ring post and looks to the crowd. The crowd begins chanting for Foley as he takes the leg and smashes it against the steel ring post. Foley raises his arm in triumph as Psychotic writhes from the attack.] CHANEY: FOLEY SLAMS THAT KNEE INTO THE RING POST!!! Johnny Psychotic's knee may be hurt! WATTERS: If it is, then Caleb Foley has finally done something I never thought he would. He has done what needed to be done to win. CHANEY: You are back him now? WATTERS: Oh, hell no! However, Foley has done something that actually moved him closer to victory. I do applaude him finally growing a set of testicles! [Foley slides into the ring and has a smile on his face. He walks over and grabs Psychotic by both legs, setting him up for a catapult move. He smiles widely for the crowd as he holds both legs in position.] CHANEY: Foley holding Psychotic's legs in position an dthis could be devastating! WATTERS: Foley normally wouldn't dig this deep, but a title could be at stake! CHANEY: Will he do it? WATTERS: He will if he wants to win! [Caleb drops back, catapulting Psychotic across the ring and into the opposite corner, where due to his height he smacks the ring post with his head. Psychotic stumbles back and Foley is right there to chop block that right knee again, sending the big man to the canvas.] CHANEY: WHAT A COMBINATION! Foley sends Psychotic flying into the ring post and then attacks the knee right after! He's hitting him from every angle! WATTERS: He is playing a strong game right now, but will it give him a win? CHANEY: I guess only time will tell. WATTERS: Whatever. [Foley is up and over to Psychotic who is still trying to stand. Foley grabs Psychotic by the head and plants a snap DDT in the center of the ring.] CHANEY: DDT by Foley! He might have it now! The cover! WATTERS: This can't happen!!! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TTTHHHHHHRRRRR..........KICKOUT!!! CHANEY: Psychotic got his shoulder up at the last possible second! WATTERS: Johnny has had his knee posted and his forehead posted and STILL is not out of this one. CHANEY: What does that mean, Larry? WATTERS: That Caleb Foley better kill this guy to win or he will be toast! [The fans and Foley both cannot believe Psychotic escaped, but Foley doesn't argue. Caleb reaches down and grabs that right leg again, driving his knee into the hamstring of Psychotic. He continues this over and over until Psychotic's arm is under the bottom rope and the referee forces the break.] CHANEY: FOLEY AGAIN GOING AFTER THAT LEG!!! WATTERS: At this point, I'm not sure what is holding Johnny's knee together! I hope SCW has an orthopedist on retainer! CHANEY: Foley did break the entire attack as soon as Barry Snider called for it. WATTERS: Snider is the one guy who will disqualify at the drop of a hat, so that is understandable. [Foley grabs the legs again and sets up for another catapult, but as he drops back, Psychotic's head was under the ropes and his neck snapped against the bottom rope. Psychotic begins grabbing his throat and writhing around.] CHANEY: FOLEY LIFTED HIS THROAT RIGHT INTO THE BOTTOM ROPE!!! Psychotic could be seriously hurt! WATTERS: This title must mean something to the Irish moron! He's going after it in a way I never thought I would see him go! [Foley over and he hops up to the second rope, leaping into the air and dropping a fist right to the forehead of Psychotic.] CHANEY: FOLEY WITH THE FIST DROP! HE COVERS! WATTERS: WHAT THE HELL?!?! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TTTHHHHHHRRRRR..........KICKOUT!!! CHANEY: PSYCHOTIC ESCAPES AGAIN! WATTERS: At some point, Foley has to finish Psychotic or he will be in for a terrible, painful beat down. CHANEY: The first time tonight we have seen Caleb Foley actually surprised the match isn't over. WATTERS: That near fall did surprise him! [Foley is in disbelief. He talks to the referee a little, pounding his hand against the other for the universal motion of "1-2-3" as if to tell him he felt the match should be over.] CHANEY: Foley's frustration is felt throughout this sell-out crowd in Dallas Texas! WATTERS: He better put a lid on this, or it will be costly! CHANEY: Foley is pleading his case to the referee. WATTERS: Dumb move kid. You're giving Psychotic time to get himself together. CHANEY: I just think Caleb wanted a clarification on the count because he really thought he heard the third beat. [Caleb back over to get Psychotic and he reaches down, only for Psychotic to grab Foley by the tights and yank him over him and through the ropes to the outside. Foley lands awkwardly as Psychotic is still trying to get to his feet.] WATTERS: Veteran move by Psychotic! CHANEY: Foley didn't see it coming and Psychotic has sent the smaller man out of the ring! WATTERS: This doesn't happen if Foley hadn't whined to the referee. Now he has to get back into the ring with Psychotic getting back to strength. There is not a single moron here that should like his chances now. [Foley climbs up to the apron as Psychotic is finally pulling himself to his feet. Psychotic is very ginger on that right leg now. He can't get to Foley fast enough to stop his entrance, but does block the boot Caleb tried to kick him with.] CHANEY: Psychotic showing signs of life here, blocking the boot. He should have been faster, but tthat leg isn't agreeing with him. WATTERS: He got there and that is what counts! [Psychotic spins Foley around and drills him with another clothesline to the back of the head.] CHANEY: FOLEY DRILLED IN THE BACK OF TEH HEAD AGAIN! WATTERS: BOTH MEN ARE DOWN!!! CHANEY: This has gone past wrestling match and skillful use of technique. It has become a pure brawl and now these two are just throwing everything they have in there! WATTERS: Which one has the sheer will to win. Who wants it more?!?!?! [Both men are on the mat and trying to get to their feet. The referee begins a count, which nobody expects to lead to any sort of decision.] CHANEY: Have we even discussed what happens if they both are counted down? WATTERS: Does that mean Pat Gordon Jr advances to the final automatically? This could be sweeter than I thought! [Psychotic is almost up to his feet as Foley pulls himself up. Foley gets over to Psychotic, but is greeted with a punch to the lower abdomen, which doubles "Celtic Crippler" over.] CHANEY: Pychotic still with a ton of power even with a knee on life support! WATTERS: FIFTY more pounds at his disposal, Chaney. That gets you a lot of extra momentum. [Psychotic steadies himself and puts Caleb's head in position, lifting for a power bomb. He holds it for a second and drops it with force in center ring.] CHANEY: POWERBOMB BY PSYCHOTIC!!! WATTERS: That knee still looks a little wobbly, but he just has the raw power to push through it. CHANEY: It is extremely impressive, I have to admit! WATTERS: He's a freaking force of nature, Chaney! He will not be denied! [Psychotic pulls Foley back to his feet. He wraps the arm around and goes for the suplex lift, but Foley uses his foot to block it.] CHANEY: Foley blocking the lift and that knee is a factor again! WATTERS: Johnny has gone to the well too many times and now he can't seem to lift as he tries again! CHANEY: Foley blocks again and Psychotic refuses to let go of the hold that has Caleb in position for that lift again. WATTERS: He knows he can power through! [Psychotic pauses and then looks to exert even more energy to lift, obviously trying to finish the match. Foley' feet come just off the mat, but the smaller man uses that to his advantage and drops down, pulling Psychotic over and down into a shocking small package.] CHANEY: FOLEY WITH THE SMALL PACKAGE! WATTERS: WHAT ?!?!?! ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TWO!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . TTTHHHHHHRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHANEY: FOLEY GOT HIM!!! FOLEY ADVANCES!!! WATTERS: YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME?!?!?! CHANEY: CALEB FOLEY ADVANCES TO FACE PAT GORDON JR AT SHOWDOWN!!! WATTERS: THIS IS A TRAVESTY!!! [Out of nowhere, SAGAWA slides into the ring and begins planting fists into the face of Johnny Psychotic over and over.] CHANEY: SAGAWA IS OUT AND GOING AFTER PSYCHOTIC!!! WATTERS: THE CANNIBAL IS UNHINGED!!! CHANEY: The hatred these two have is unbelievable! WATTERS: And never-ending it seems! [Foley has his hands raised as the fans were cheering, but sees what is happening and turns to go and stop the fight in the ring. Before he taks two steps, he is caught with a spear by a charging Pat Gordon Jr. The fans erupt in boos as Foley goes down.] CHANEY: PAT GORDON JUNIOR IS OUT HERE!!! WATTERS: Foley is in deep trouble now! Gordon knows that if he takes him out now, his advantage st Showdown becomes massive! CHANEY: That isn't fair! WATTERS: You see management out here stopping it? [Sagawa throws Psychotic over the top rope, but he is caught by Windam Brody. Before Brody can do anything, SAGAWA takes off and leaps over the top rope and hits a plancha on both Psychotic and Brody as all three men hit the floor.] CHANEY: SAGAWA WITH A PLANCHA OVER THE TOP ROPE! HOLY MOLY!!! WATTERS: Sagawa showing that he is indeed willing to do any and everything he can to win! CHANEY: Including hurt himself! WATTERS: He can take the pain! He showed that tonight! [As things seem to be getting even more out of hand, Alfie Button, Sean Darring, and Tripp Skylark all are out and entering what is turning into a quarterfinalist brawl. The crowd is going nuts as finally the four semifinalists end up in the ring at the same time.] CHANEY: THE ENTIRE FIELD IS OUT HERE NOW! THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!! WATTERS: Get security out here because these four could kill each other! [Sagawa goes after Darring, Gordon continues his assault on Foley as security is finally rushing out to break this up.] CHANEY: IT'S ON!!! Sagawa and Darring trading shots as Gordon continues wailing on Foley across the way! WATTERS: These four may all injure each other before we ever get to Showdown! CHANEY: That would be a shame! We need help out here! Where is Hank Wright and the security team?!?!?! WATTERS: That is a good question as I figured the Texasstooge would have rushed out by now. [Security is in the ring, but no member of management is present. The brawl on the outside with the four losing quarterfinalists is still raging as the announcers begin to get a little on edge.] CHANEY: Security is out here, but this brawl is gettign dangerously close to the fans at ringside again. WATTERS: We all know how bad that was for us last time it happened. CHANEY: Tell me about it. And through it all where is Hank Wright? WATTERS: Staying in his safe office, I would imagine! [The screen suddenly pops and crackles to life as the lights dim a few times. The fight isn't stopping, but the attention is drawn from it as the following scene unfolds...] [Static flickers across the screen. The feed is shifting, a blurred image is coming onto the screen.] WATTERS: Alright! We're back in busi- [Someone in the crowd screams.] [The announce team recoils back in horror. Their skin suddenly ash white and sweating. The audience is screaming in shock at the gruesome sight upon the screen.] [Blood drips onto the ground, forming into a steadily spreading pool. Hank Wright is hanging limply from the chains that have crucified him to the wall. Blood pouring from cuts and wounds upon his face and body. The limp bodies of the rest of the crew lie around him. A fire has started, and the flames create eerie patterns and shadows upon the savage scene. The camera shifts and moves as a hand grabs it, the owner turning it to face himself.] [And half the roster sees a familiar visage...] [Stringy black hair...] [Icy blue eyes that bore into the camera...] [A half shadowed face that quirks into a cruel smile...] ALEX REYN: Greetings. [The screen goes to black.] © 2019 RSE, Inc. LEAGUE WEBSITE: http://www.scw.fwrestling.com/ LEAGUE FORUM: http://scw2019.freeforums.net/ LEAGUE TWITTER: @official_scw
